Talay Thai Kitchen is a welcome and refreshing addition to St Ives' already vibrant food scene and has quickly established itself as an all round favourite. This was either our 3rd or 4th visit to Talay Thai; since it opened we’ve always eaten here when we come to St Ives, and I was very excited this time to get a window seat!!. The restaurant is on the harbour, so the views are amazing. At Talay Thai you have the option of a typical menu with starters, mains, etc or they serve a lot of dishes as a tapas size so you can order a few different smaller size dishes and try more of the menu.

Sunday evening rolled in and we were getting ready to try out St. Ives’s famous Talay Thai restaurant. We had heard so many good things from our friends; and we definitely weren’t disappointed!. Our family joined us at the restaurant and the atmosphere was sensational, with an open kitchen and super friendly team, and the food was nothing shy of heavenly.

For beautiful Thai food and boat watchingIf Thai food is your thing then you can’t miss a trip to the Talay Thai Kitchen. Positioned right on the harbour front in the heart of St Ives town, the restaurant is a greatplace to catch all of the action. Choose from an array of Thai dishes from tapas to curries and sit back and gaze through their huge windows.

For frontline views over St Ives Harbour, dining at Talay is a must. This kitchen-meets-cocktail-bar is perfectly placed to sit in the window and watch the waves roll onto Porthminster Beach. Talay’s recommended dishes include chu chi hake finished with a smooth red curry sauce, or opt for their street food style Thai boat noodle soup.

The restaurant can be found above eye level on Wharf Road overlooking the harbour and Thai tapas-style street food is on the menu so it's a great spot for sociable dining with friends. Dishes include salt and pepper squid, chicken satay, prawn toast, Thai style dumplings and stick pork skewers.

You must try Talay Thai, an authentic Thai restaurant that also offers takeaway. For Indian, go for The Curry Garden or the Rajpoot (both in St Ives), and our local Chinese is Hong Kong Kitchen. We thoroughly recommend St Ives Pizza Company (in nearby Penbeagle, between St Ives and Polmanter).

What could be nicer than Thai Tapas style street food with view?. In the Thai language, Talay is a neat little word that means both sea view and street food – who knew!. This rising star on the St Ives culinary scene has an extensive array of vegetarian and vegan dishes for your delight!.

They do utterly fabulous Thai food - my favourites are the red and green Thai curries with a Mojito cocktail on the side. Even better if you can get a table in the window ovelooking the harbour. You can't book a table at Talay Thai but they will put you on a waiting list if they are full.

Talay Thai Kitchen – located in a central point on the harbour, elevated above the street, Talay is a must-visit. In 2024 they added a cocktail lounge for you to enjoy whilst waiting for your table. We voted this our best meal of the holiday!.

Fragrant plates of Thai curries and small sharing starters keep this place packed out in summer when holiday makers crave a change from seafood. With a first floor dining room, there are great views to be had too.

From locally sourced fish and shellfish (The seafood café on Fore Street) to authentic Thai (Talay Thai on Wharf road), there's something for everyone.
