Reviews Summary

Embers Cafe is praised for its unique flame-cooked dishes and warm, laid-back atmosphere, offering a distinct culinary experience. While many highlight the delicious flavors and friendly service, some reviewers have noted long waits for food and occasional temperature issues, particularly at the end of service.

"Stopped for lunch. Really great concept. Food cooked outside on a variety of smokers and barbecues. Only a few tables inside. So book if the weather isn't good. Lots of outside tables. Rustic. Rated 5 for food - it's not fine dining - given a 5 because what they do - they do really well."

Chris Theyer

"We traveled from Birmingham to experience this unique restaurant. Will be back to try again!

My partner is a meat eater and wanted to try the roast cooked on the fire (ovens shown outside in photos). It was a bigger portion than it looked! Super yummy and you can really taste the fire in the food. I myself am a vegetarian so had the mushroom lasagna special that week which was also a decent portion and delicious!

The owner could be seen outside preparing food and took the time to welcome us to his restaurant as we passed on our way in and also check on our experience on our way out.

Only bad note was the long wait for food and it being a little cold. Although appreciate we went at the end of lunch service at 15:00 so maybe earlier would have been better in this respect.

The restaurant has a very warm and laid back atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and very welcoming!

The car park is a little small so you may have to use the public one around the corner at busy times."

"Wow, the food here was amazing. We had a lamb special which was filling and tasted great. I had to finish all the roast potatoes despite being so full they were that tasty. Friendly service and look forward to coming back again. 👌"
