"Fantastic in every way. It couldn't be better located, right on the harbourside so convenient for everywhere in the town. The building has a history dating back to 1795. We were very fortunate to have a room that had a lovely view over the harbour and up to the abbey. Good sized room. Friendly staff. Excellent range of cask ales including a superb stout. Whitby seemed to have an enormous number of dogs so it was lovely to have a haven away from them."

Very nice place to come and eat with friends and family. However, service lacks in places like cleaning where there are very many tables that haven't been cleared away or cleaned from previous customers. Despite that the food is very quick service for even complex meals with great prices and amazing atmosphere. Definitely recommend going after peak times to getting a table. Plenty of seating inside and outside with great views too.

Today’s visit was no different from the visit 2 days ago. Service is still good but does lack in terms of cleanliness, tables are not cleared away efficiently despite it being constantly busy throughout the week we stayed here in Whitby. The standards of food and drinks is still high."

"Visited a number of times in August for breakfast when staying in the area.
Would highly recommend visiting as soon as the upstairs opens and sitting at one of the tables in the windows, which have great views over the harbour.
Very clean, spacious, and decent food and service.
Sitting downstairs definitely isn't as good as the upstairs area, and I would recommend going early, as this venue is packed for the rest of the day.
The toilets could benefit from a refurbishment."
