I loved visiting Lacock, UK! The lunch The George Inn was delicious. From their website: “The pub dates back to c.1361 and inside you can find original exposed beams, a medieval fireplace and cosy nooks and crannies to enjoy great food and drink as you while away the day.” If you find yourself in Lacock, definitely stop in! Keep an eye out for part 2, where I see a great #harrypotter spot! 📍The G...

Reviews Summary

The George Inn is celebrated for its historic charm, excellent selection of craft ales, and the welcoming atmosphere fostered by new ownership. While many diners rave about the quality of pub fare, particularly the Sunday roast and fish and chips, some reviews mention inconsistent food quality and dated decor in certain areas. The service is generally described as friendly and attentive, contributing to the overall positive experience, though occasional service charges and bar prices have been noted.

"The most perfect pub in the Windsor area, just over the walk over Eton Bridge. This is the finest selection of ale provided by Windsor & Eton Brewery. Which I have to say is second to none. The food is great, the staff are friendly and fully engaging. In summer there is a friendly outside area. And in the cooler months they have an open fire and a warm welcoming within. My favourite tipple is a pint of storm, nectar of the gods!"

Mark O'Leary

"Great pub accommodation, young friendly staff working bar, and overnight reservations.

Quaint room, great view of castle and bridge. Note that there is no breakfast available, which is a shame.

Not the fault of the historic property at all, but be aware in hot weather the rooms are very hot indeed (even overnight). There is a fan, but it can be close. Also, there are lots of steps to reach the top with luggage it was a bit tricky for me with an injured ankle.

Again, the property is fabulous and, in milder weather, would be perfect."

Brian Clucas

"I would like to recommend the pub. Me and my family had Sunday roast there today and it was absolutely delicious! The best we ever had! I had the pleasure of meeting Tom the chef and tell him how amazing our courses were. I had the beef and my husband had the pork. We enjoyed every bite. Also, the service was great! The staff had a smile on their face when they spoke to us and often checked if we were ok and had everything we needed. The service was quick as well. When you go to Eton, go there!"
