The Ivy Windsor

The Ivy is a new, yet already beloved, addition to the main high street of Windsor, and sits so close to Windsor Castle that it sits directly in its shadow. Faithful disciples of The Ivy group, on our most beautiful London restaurants list, will recognise many of their favourites on the menu, along with a few appropriately regal additions (the Platinum Crown Dome, with warm chocolate sauce, poured over á table, is as delicious as it is Instagram-worthy), and the space seems to span out across several intimate areas. Based in a former hotel, the red brick facade of the restaurant has an immediate old-school feel to it, which perfectly suits its location in this historic town, and the tradition of the surrounding area melds with the flash of colour and quirky fittings the famed restaurant group is known for.

The Ivy or Leaf, situated in The Castle Hotel, are great choices if you’re looking for classic dishes from around the world like steak, prawn curry or fish and chips, but in a more bougie setting, with a heftier price tag. The Eton Mess has a smaller selection of dishes on their menu but the food is so damn good. Harvest Afro Caribbean is a family-owned African-Caribbean restaurant serving West African and Jamaican inspired food and drinks.

For one of the most authentic experiences, I recommend visiting The Ivy. This iconic restaurant is not only known for its elegance, but their Sticky Toffee Pudding is a masterpiece that has captivated the palates of many. Another gem is The Fox & Anchor, a historic pub with a lively atmosphere, where dessert is prepared according to the traditional recipe, rich in dates and served with a toffee sauce that seems almost like a dream.

Positioned in the middle of Marlow High Street, The Ivy in Marlow welcomes remote workers amongst its many other customers. The bar is geared up for remote workers looking to sit somewhere a little more glamorous as the plush bar, well-suited waiting staff and high-end menus make it the perfect place for a change of scenery. Whilst parking can be tricky on the high street, there are plenty of designated car parks nearby.

The Ivy Windsor Brasserie, just a short stroll from Windsor Castle, is an upscale venue that boasts a luxurious ambiance, replete with plush seating and sparkling chandeliers. The Ivy Royale, featuring a harmonious blend of sparkling wine and elderflower, stands out as a must-try. For wine enthusiasts, the brasserie's renowned red wine selection is sure to please.

Lovers of afternoon tea will rejoice as the Ivy should be opening up in Windsor sometime this spring. The brasserie has locations all over the UK and it seems that its next spot is on Windsor's high street. The new eatery will be located opposite Windsor Castle at 31 High Street, Windsor.
