We ended up having our final lunch at Ate O’Clock, which is a fun restaurant in a nice area of the city. It feels like a bit of an oasis as you step off the busy street, walk down a fairy-lit tunnel, and arrive at a warm, vibrant little restaurant. The staff were very friendly and it all just felt inviting.

It was beautifully done when we went, though the menu was slightly different. They have a section for outdoor dining, so be sure to ask about this when you book. Ate O’clock in York is hidden away but is worth looking out for if you’re wanting a delicious meal.

Ate O Clock is one of our favourite romantic restaurants in York. In addition to its delicious food, the glamorous Art Deco styling is right up my street!. It is situated down a fairy lit alley off High Ousegate, near Coppergate and Parliament Street.

Only a short walk from York Minster, this rustic wine bar and bistro offers grill dishes, burgers and salads. It's a family-run business offering great service since the 1980's - one of York's favourites.

Has a separate gluten free menu with items clearly labelled as being on set menu. Good set up in this regard. I really enjoyed my meal, but found the servings somewhat inconsistent.
