Cherie Montoya Austin, who grew up in the North Valley of Albuquerque, the greenest and most fertile part of the city, started Farm and Table restaurant, an obvious culmination and continuation of her values and traditions. Chefs prepare seasonal menus according to what the current fresh crop of the day is - a concept embraced by the environmentally conscious society of today. Farm and Table gets their food from local farms and elsewhere in New Mexico - corn from the Santa Ana Pueblo, beef from Los Lunas and potatoes from Santa Fe, for example.

As their name suggests, Farm and Table offers locally grown and sourced farm-to-table meals with modern flair, with up to 80% of their menu sourced from local farmers, ranchers, dairies, and food artisans. The restaurant is situated on a working farm, with beautiful views, patio dining, and great ambiance. For brunch, check out their sweet potato hash with confit chicken, soft-cooked egg, endive, and whipped goat cheese, or their enchilada and eggs with carne adovada, pinto beans, tucumcari cheddar, and red or green chile.

Located in Albuquerque's North Valley, Farm & Table recognizes that we are blessed with over 300 days of sunshine, irrigation from the Rio Grande, and rich soil. Farm & Table is an incredibly inviting restaurant for families. The outdoor patio area with its flowers and fountain is definitely in the running for my “best in Albuquerque” list (no small feat considering nearly every restaurant in this city has an outdoor space), but do make reservations if you want to sit there. The tables are set with flowers from the garden behind the restaurant.

This beautiful restaurant sits adjacent to Alameda Farm, where much of the produce grown makes its way to the table. The owners are committed to sustainable practices, and the care that goes into the ingredients shines on the plate through thoughtful, focused dishes. The wine list is impressive at Farm and Table, and our group enjoyed a flight of rosé wines to go with our meal.

There tend to be nice vegetarian offerings at Farm and Table and Frenchish. At Frenchish it sounds weird but I really recommend the carrot dog if it's on the menu!. Street Food Institute has some nice veggie tacos.
