Reviews Summary

Bear Den Aspen offers a charming, cozy atmosphere with generally good food, particularly praised for brunch items like the breakfast burrito and salmon Benedict. However, some reviews mention inconsistent service and high prices for certain extras, creating a mixed dining experience.

"Had a great brunch here before hitting the road. Breakfast burrito was sizable and filling, got it with the chroizo which was not spicy even though they say it is a little. My wife got the salmon Benedict which was very fresh and had a generous portion of salmon and the hollandaise was house made and really good.

The cozy cabin/house is adorable and has a great vibe overall. Note that it is small and tight, would be tough to bring any sizable group here, recommend reservations during the season. We got in on a Monday (Presidents’ Day) without one and it was full but didn’t seem to be a wait at any point."

Marco Buchmayer

"Interesting tiny restaraunt in downtown Aspen! Really small on the inside and super mountain-y decorative. Outdoor tables were lovely with this great weather. Food was pretty good. Not many options for breakfast and the continental breakfast was $40 which is insane even for aspen. Latte was great and service was phenomenal. Bathroom is outside in a public building. Was satisfying but not worth the price."

Ava Johns

"A small, super cozy restaurant full of charm. Great food, excellent service, and a truly pleasant atmosphere. The decor is beautiful — elegant yet effortlessly chic. Highly recommended. I’d definitely come back. Enjoy!"

Foodstuff: In search of breakfast culture

I suggested we could try the Bear Den, a cozy little nook on Restaurant Row which I had discovered earlier this season when I met someone there for a work meeting. (“Discovered” is maybe a self-flattering term here, as someone else proposed the meeting and I had never taken a look inside to realize just how apt the place might be for fostering a breakfast culture.)
