Reviews Summary
Mo's Seafood & Chowder in Astoria is a popular spot for its consistent seafood offerings and stunning river views. While many praise the legendary clam chowder and attentive service, some reviews suggest that certain dishes, like the fish and chips, are just average and don't quite live up to the restaurant's high ratings. The atmosphere and service are consistently highlighted as positive aspects.
"I had a great lunch at Mo’s during a brief stop in Astoria. I had the seafood combination. The shrimp, in particular, were perfect. I snarfed down the cup of clam chowder before I got a picture of it. Jennifer was my server and she was amazing. I’d like to clone her. What a talented server!"

"The overall experience was pleasant, though the food left a bit to be desired. The waitress was sweet and attentive, as was the rest of the team, which made us feel well taken care of. The location is lovely, we sat out on the back decking overlooking the river and even spotted a sea lion swimming past, which was a real highlight.
As for the food, it was just okay. The fish was soggy on the bottom and a bit heavy. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t quite live up to the high 4-star overall rating the place currently has.
In short, the atmosphere and service were wonderful, but the food didn’t quite match the rest of the experience."

"Mo's gets a lot of flack for being a chain restaurant on the Oregon coast- but I will say the service, food, atmosphere, and vibes overall at this location were all great. We got seated promptly, waters, asked for a drink order quick as quick could be. Food came out in a reasonable timeframe and tasted good, looked good, and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The food was also consistent across the board. We enjoyed getting to sit on the dock area and seeing the boats on the river with our meal, it was really enjoyable. We would come back to this location!"
