What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Chuck's Fish offers a lively atmosphere and a diverse menu, with many praising its unique sushi creations and appetizers. However, some diners have noted inconsistencies in food quality and service speed, with occasional complaints about blandness or high prices for the experience. Despite varied reviews, it remains a popular spot, particularly for those seeking creative sushi and a vibrant dining environment.
"In town for parents weekend and finally made it to Chuck’s. It didn’t disappoint. Uptown chicken and Brussel sprouts wereour favorite appetizer. I had bronzed red snapper with a mango salsa and rice pilaf. It was well prepared and delicious. Wife and son shared several rolls. Rainbow and The Dawg were their favorites. Highly recommend"

"How they have above a 4 star rating is beyond me. Their $24 rainbow roll of 8 pieces is the first rainbow roll I’ve ever had in my life that doesn’t include avocado. Can you even call it a rainbow roll? 1 roll, 2 hand rolls, 1 $42 fish of the day, no drinks, and the bill was $100 before tip.
I’ve been to Chuck’s several times over the years, and it’s always been underwhelming, but this time reinforced it was the absolute last. My sushi standard isn’t that high, but I’ve had better sushi from gas stations."

"We sat at the bar and had a great night. We started out with the calamari and Brussel sprouts and then had the shrimp tempura sushi roll and the Philly sushi roll. The calamari was my favorite. Delicious! We will be back again soon!
Great service too!"

Road Rebs: The Unofficial Guide To Athens, Georgia
Originally based in downtown Tuscaloosa, Chuck’s Fish made its way to Athens in 2019 in what was once the Greyhound bus station. The atmosphere in Chuck’s is unbeatable, and although it is a sushi and seafood restaurant, there are so many more menu items from which to choose. Chuck’s has my favorite sushi roll in Athens, “The Cowboy Roll,” which is a California roll with steak instead of crab.
60+ Places to Eat in Athens, Georgia
Chuck’s Fish – I haven’t been to this one yet as it just opened right before the pandemic, but it’s one of our only restaurants dedicated to seafood. Menu items are on the more expensive end as they depend on the market price of the fish, but the outdoor patio looks really nice and I can’t wait to go.
