Replying to @jigglypleezy COCHA Matcha & Coffee Bar 🍵 ✨8/10 I got their traditional whisk latte. The ratio of matcha to milk was pretty good and it wasn’t too sweet either. However, it’s bit more expensive than other places I’ve been to. 🥲

Reviews Summary

Cocha is celebrated for its exceptional, globally inspired cuisine and commitment to local ingredients. Diners rave about standout dishes like the duck confit and the creative vegan options, complemented by knowledgeable and friendly service. The atmosphere is consistently praised as welcoming and sophisticated, making it a must-visit in Baton Rouge.

"Staff could not have been more pleasant. Wine menu was extensive with solid selections. Our mains were well made with fresh ingredients, unique flavors, and the menu took great care to provide top-notch options for vegans and gluten intolerant folks. While I’m not vegan, the chocolate vegan ice cream was incredibly decadent and delicious. The website pictures made me think seating was communal; it is not. We wish we could move this gem to our town."

"Really loved the food here – the vegetarian options were insanely good. Anne Louise was our server and she was super sweet. You’ve gotta try the jackfruit dish and the lasagna – delicious. The presentation was on point too!"

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hands-down the best ribeye we’ve ever had!

Cocha absolutely blew us away. My husband and I stopped in for dinner and ordered the ribeye steaks with leek purée, mushrooms, and asparagus—and let me tell you, we’re still talking about it! Perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. That leek purée deserves its own fan club.

We got the yellowfin tuna & rice as an app and it was spicy and delicious!

The service was just as incredible as the food. Jess was our server and she was phenomenal—warm, attentive, and super knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. She made the entire experience even better.

We sat out front, which was such a cozy and relaxing spot. The vibe was peaceful and inviting, and since we were staying within walking distance, we got to enjoy a lovely stroll to and from the restaurant. The cocktails? Also a 10/10.

Cocha is the whole package: food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. If you’re in Baton Rouge, this place is a must. Five stars all the way! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟"

To be fair, Cocha is not free…but I have to mention it for the work that the owners, Enrique Pinerua and Saskia Spanhoff, have been doing with afore-mentioned Taylor Jacobsen. Located in the 6th District, these brave souls are working diligently to beautify the space with murals, artistic landscapes, and a sense of community. Again, you’re going to want to stop in to Cocha and try their delicious tapas-inspired dishes like the corncake stuffed with slow braised pork and jackfruit or the fried green plantains with mojo and guasacaca dipping sauces.
