In business for over 25 years, it’s a lively little spot with ten signature sandwiches, salads, and baked goods.For a more upscale evening out, we drove to City Kitchen, which was clearly a popular spot among the local yacht and boat owners who are able to dock and walk upstairs to the restaurant. The outdoor dining area and tiki bar overlooks the water, but on a rainy night, were were happy to find a seat at the bar and enjoyed the crab cake entree with latin-inspired flare along with the duck bolognese with house-made ricotta.In passing, another diner told us we had to order the sticky toffee pudding for dessert, and the bartender told us it was, “the best dessert in Beaufort.” Who are we to pass that up?. And we’re glad we didn’t, because it was the best sticky toffee pudding we’ve ever had!.

Finally, we suggest City Kitchen as our third must-visit restaurant in Beauport, as the food is so unique and fresh, and the atmosphere is unlike any other. The restaurant itself is on the docks, and offers views of boat launches, and the harbor, and features many fresh catch items on their menu. Oh, it seems just like yesterday brothers Steve and Chuck Tulevech (both Yankees from New York) relocated to the well-known quaint and historic town of Beaufort, North Carolina. They won the locals over with their uncanny ability to correctly pronounce the name of the town… not that copycat town, one state over.

This is one of the few restaurants on the list not located in downtown Beaufort. It’s just off Highway 70 across the bridge from Morehead City. The space is elegant and service is top notch as is the food.
