For gourmet picnic supplies, peruse the shelves of the High Desert Market and Café, 203 Tombstone Canyon Rd. (tel. 520/432-6775; www.highdesertmarket.net), which has organic produce, imported cheeses, wine, and other assorted goodies for a great picnic. There is also a cafe here that is a great place for breakfast or lunch.

Biggest coffee shop in town with lots of seating options both inside and out 2 Main Street. Bisbee Coffee is a fantastic writing spot with plenty of cozy seating options both indoors and outdoors, plus free Wi-Fi for staying connected. It’s located in the same building as Bisbee Books, the only bookstore in town, which unfortunately plans to close in early 2025, unless a buyer steps in.

And we found good eats at the High Desert Restaurant and Market, the Bisbee Coffee Co., and Santiago’s upscale Mexican restaurant on the town square. We found three good bookstores; the Meridian has a diverse collection of secondhand and out-of-print books.

Bisbee is well known for its cute downtown shops, and one of the best things to do in Bisbee is go shopping. My all time favorite store is the mineral shop. They had gems from all over, but had specific Bisbee minerals, which I think is so cool.

Bisbee has graciously adopted the moniker of “Mayberry on Acid,” a name that seems to get kicked around by all sorts of funky small towns and alternative communities. But in this case, I’d say it’s more catchy than it is accurate.

Bisbee Coffee Company — We popped in 3 times in 24 hours, lol. It’s a cute local coffee shop. The coffee is good, but I’d skip the smoothies (not sure if it was a one-off experience, but it wasn’t sweet at all).

Bisbee Coffee Company – tucked away in a quaint corner of downtown, this cafe is an ideal spot to hear live music. Local musicians play bluesy tunes 7 days a week and offer a relaxed atmosphere.

We found Bisbee Coffee Co., where I enjoyed a coffee and we shared a pastry–like a scone or cinnamon roll. The outdoor patio is a good size and perfect for people-watching.
