But not only was the service superb but the food was EXCELLENT! While our friends ordered the walleye and steak, my wife ordered the special of the day: a baked AND grilled chicken on a bed of rice with the tastiest curry we've ever had. I ordered the shrimp tacos BUT WAIT ... Substituted with baked walleye - absolutely heavenly along with the crispiest sweet potato tacos

"PROS: Amazing food quality paired with the most welcoming service. The atmosphere falls a bit short of the food quality and service. I couldn't resist ordering Minnesota's flagship food: the walleye. It was extremely fresh and cooked to perfection! Perfect choice, highly recommended.
CONS: Pricey place. I paid $67 for my walleye, including a beer, tax and tip. Not for amateurs."

I got their salmon, and she got their steak frites, I must say Bistro 79 had such a cozy vibe, and the food was delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and had a nice flavor. My girlfriend loved her steak frites too—she said it was juicy and cooked just right. Shawn was an awesome server, really attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!"
