Reviews Summary

The Chocolate Moose offers a delightful, nostalgic ice cream experience with a wide variety of flavors and other treats like burgers and coffee. While many praise the unique flavors, friendly service, and fun atmosphere, some find the prices high for the quality of ice cream, and parking can be an issue before 4 PM.

"I am writing this review tonight for a very specific reason. As has happened on many occasions, I got a late night hankering for an Oreo milkshake from the Chocolate Moose. With 45 minutes until close, I promptly headed out the door. It wasn't until I arrived that I realized I had forgotten my wallet at home. A super sweet employee, called Margot, was kind enough to pay for my milkshake and allow me to repay her via her Venmo account. I am now blissfully sipping my delicious milkshake, thanks to that lovely young woman!! Now that's excellent customer service!"

"The Chocolate Moose is a Downtown ice cream shop that has a nostalgic ambiance, but its prices are quite high. The servers were friendly, and the establishment was clean and well-maintained. However, the quality of the ice cream was average. Considering that a couple of scoops of ice cream and a malt cost $45.00, I cannot recommend this establishment and will likely try other ice cream parlors in the future."

Jim Johnson

"Fantastic local spot in Bloomington!! Loved the flavors. Tried campfire s'mores (favorite), caramel apple butter and a coffee flavor. Reasonably priced, great service and well maintained establishment! Highly recommend"

No, there is no specific dress code. Casual attire is perfectly acceptable.

Reservations are not typically required, as it's a casual ice cream shop. However, it can get busy, especially during peak times.

Food was great and hot! Classic coney dog and nice, crispy Potato Wedges. Fry serving size wasn't overly generous, but fair for the price.". "I get this is an icecream shop but the food was kind of sad. We got about 6 Potato Wedges and that cost $5. My BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich had no BBQ on it and little meat. The only thing that looked good besides the ice cream was the Chicken Bacon Ranch ". Soft serve ice cream served with or without a cone, the choice is yours!
