What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
BACON Boise is a bacon lover's paradise, celebrated for its creative bacon creations and comforting beignets. While many rave about the unique flavors and cozy atmosphere, some find the food excessively salty or not served at the desired temperature, with occasional issues regarding noise levels from other patrons.
"The BEST cinnamon roll ever! It has a fully cooked, yet perfectly moist interior, complimented by maple and bacon. None of the flavors overwhelmed the others, making every bite superb. The cinnamon roll is also large enough to share! Hubby came for the bacon and loved the bacon shots... a flight of each of their bacon flavors. They were all so good that he couldn't pick a favorite! This was a stop for us while traveling cross country and definitely worth it! (edited for spelling)"

"Bacon Boise - A Bacon Lover’s Paradise!
If you haven’t visited Bacon Boise yet, you’re truly missing out. This place is a bacon lover’s dream, and I’m not just talking about regular bacon – their in-house creations are next level.
First, let’s talk about the Beignets – they are to die for! Light, fluffy, and warm, dusted with white powdered sugar, and paired with raspberry jelly. I just devoured five pieces without blinking an eye. Seriously, they’re THAT good. 😋
Now, onto the real star of the show: Bacon Shots. This sampler lets you try all of their signature, made-in-house bacon varieties:
• Berryhill Bacon: Their traditional bacon, with a slight sweetness that makes it unique and absolutely mouthwatering.
• Spicy Hot Bacon: If you love a bit of heat, this is your bacon. The peppery kick lingers on your tongue in the best way possible.
• Maple Rosemary Bacon: Sweet, savory, and fragrant, with the perfect balance of maple syrup and rosemary. If you’re a rosemary fan, this one’s for you.
• Candied Bacon: Perfectly sweet and addictive. This is definitely a favorite for kids (or anyone with a sweet tooth!).
• Pantry Bacon: The rotating special – which has coffee on the bacon. While not my personal favorite, it’s still pretty tasty and definitely worth trying.
The atmosphere at Bacon Boise is cozy and welcoming, with large wooden tables for families and intimate high-tops for two. The menu offers a great variety, from starters to hearty breakfast and brunch options. Plus, their patio is perfect for soaking up the sun on a warm day. Service is excellent and I enjoyed the conversation while enjoying the bar seats.
If you’re craving bacon – or just a good meal in a fun and friendly setting – Bacon Boise is the place to be! 🥓.
You can also purchase your favorite bacon for about $18 a bag to take with you!"

Modern Guide to Boise: The hip Northwest destination is giving Portland a run for its money
// Bacon(121 N. Ninth St.) doesn't mess around with its namesake meat, offering up all-day brunch with dishes such as bacon lasagna, bacon burgers, and bacon shots—a sampler of the restaurant's five bacon varieties—to pair with a bacon bloody Mary. If you're still craving bacon once you get back to your hotel, order a delivery from the downtown "bacon bike." // You know a restaurant is serious about its fries when the burgers are an afterthought, and Boise Fry Company(204 N. Capitol Blvd.) makes its priorities clear with the slogan "burgers on the side." Choose from seven different fry options (plus Brussels sprouts) made with Idaho potatoes in five different "cuts" (think shoestring or curly) to dunk in the house-made seasonings and dipping sauces, and pair it with a grass-fed bison burger and glass of local wine. // Expect to wait for brunch at longtime neighborhood standby Goldy's (108 S. Capitol Blvd.), and for good reason: You'll find no-fuss but perfectly executed staples such as chicken-fried steak, eggs Benedict, and pancakes in a historic building adjacent to City Hall.

Ten-plus snack stops might include popular brunch spot Bacon, and Waffle Me Up, which makes liège waffles with croissant-like interiors and unexpected toppings such as basil, strawberry, and bacon. A perk of joining a tour is that you bypass lines at always-busy places like Guru Donuts. Inspired by Portland, Oregon’s quirky bakeshop, Voodoo Doughnut, Guru owners Angel and Kevin Moran let their imaginations run wild on a traditional 1940s recipe, concocting made-from-scratch flavors like the Girl Scout, a riff on the coconut-and-caramel Samoa cookie, and Hipsterberry, a vegan glaze donut with blueberries, blackberries, and organic lavender.
Where is the best mac and cheese in Boise? A restaurant review
Bacon’s The Mac — packed with mushrooms, herbs and, you guessed it, a gigantic quantity of sweet bacon — has been recognized as one of the best macs in America. But the most innovative touch might be the four slices of tomato baked into the cheese on top, which break up the melty crust in just the right way. Due to the immense amount of bacon, the bottom layer of noodles is more fatty than creamy, but when you walk into a restaurant named Bacon, I doubt you’ll complain about such matters.
