Reviews Summary

Fork is lauded for its commitment to local, farm-to-table ingredients, resulting in creative and delicious contemporary Northwest-inspired cuisine. Diners consistently praise signature dishes like the fried chicken and highly recommend the butter cake dessert. While the atmosphere is generally loved, some reviews mention service can occasionally be slow.

"Wow, 5 stars all around. My team and I came here after a conference. We are all from out of town looking for gluten-free options with good sourced ingredients, especially the protein.

6 of us and my toddler. Most of us ordered the prime rib sandwich with a gluten-free bun with tomato soup. I haven't enjoyed a meal like that in a long time.

The food was spectacular.

We celebrated our boss' birthday and ordered the brownie with ice cream, also very delicious.

Our server, Kelly, was phenomenal. We had some modifications to our order, she didn't seem bothered by it. Our food was prepared how we requested.

She played with my daughter and was very sweet towards her and didn't seem bothered that she was playing on the floor in a main walkway by our table.

We sat outside, it was clean, and the music was the right volume and style.

Overall, it was a great experience and affordable.

Keep up the great work!!!"

kat Chatzigeorgiou

"I tried the braised beef with a house salad. It was very good, not great. Quality salads, mixed greens. We also had trout, again very good. Also, salad with smoked salmon, very good and the roasted chicken was better than I expected. The outside seating was perfect. Service was good, waiter not much personality."

Doug Duff

"Great place to eat! Menu items are on the eccentric side, but we ordered burgers and came back a 2nd day to eat another! (Sunday of Memorial Day weekend had a 30 min wait, Monday there was no wait.) The staff is incredibly friendly and the place is very clean. The building is also a massive piece of history as the old Boise City National Bank. Highly recommend visiting in the evenings Tues-Sat to visit their downstairs lounge where the old vault still sits! They turned it into part of the lounge, and the safe is now the wine bar. If you have kids, they can still look through the window! Very cool."

Established in 2011 by the husband-and-wife duo Cameron and Amanda Lumsden, Fork is a warm and inviting restaurant serving contemporary Northwest-inspired cuisine. Located in a 1891 historic landmark that once housed the Boise City National Bank, Fork dedicates itself to the sustainable movement by featuring reclaimed materials in their décor, procuring locally sourced ingredients for their dishes, plus featuring a wine list, which includes many regionally sourced options. Delectable highlights include griddled mac’n’cheese made with pasta from Alavita, house maple-spiced bacon, pepper cheddar, and roasted poblano chilli; cast-iron buttermilk-fried chicken and cheddar waffle served with balsamic-infused maple syrup and orange-honey butter; and local bread pudding with chocolate and bourbon-infused caramel-cream sauce.

Modern Guide to Boise: The hip Northwest destination is giving Portland a run for its money

// Make sure to order the asparagus fries to start your meal and the butter cake to end it at Fork (199 N. 8th St.), where other seasonal dishes like tomato-basil fondue, daily street tacos, and local ale–braised short ribs are bolstered by ingredients sourced from Boise and Northwest farmers and producers as part of owners Cameron and Amanda Lumsden's "loyal to local" pledge. The restaurant also does a bustling brunch on weekends, including a build-your-own bloody Mary bar. // The Lumsdens also run Alavita(807 W. Idaho St.), a chandelier-lit Italian joint known for freshly made pastas highlighting hyperlocal seasonal ingredients and a from-scratch approach.
