The Wylder is a relative newcomer to the Boise food scene, but this pizza parlor already feels like family. It could be the more than 50-year-old sourdough bread starter, the family-secret lasagna recipe, or the desserts lovingly baked each day, but no matter what their secret is, The Wylder has definitely been a huge hit in Boise. Local favorites include the Honey Badger (a white pizza with Italian sausage, ricotta, caramelized onions, and spicy honey), the Bronco (a tomato sauce based pizza with salumi, pickled Fresno chiles, and burrata cheese), and other delicious supper options such as lasagna and fried chicken.

No list of the best pizza restaurants in Boise would be complete without including one of our favorite places, the Wylder. This was an easy pick not only for our best places list, but for our top spot. The Wylder serves up great pizza from their wood-fired oven in addition to giant salads, delicious appetizers and sandwiches, and my kid’s favorite ice cream and cookies.

The Wylder’s slogan is ‘hand crafted, slow batch pizza with soul’, and boy are these pizzas handcrafted to perfection. This restaurant’s pizzas are darn good from the crust to the topping combinations. Their pizza base is made using a fifty year old sourdough starter which results in a thin crust flat bread which is slightly sweet tasting.

Their pizza is WONDERFUL (I personally love Margherita, Crispy Pepperoni, and Gem State of Mind), and I always get at least 1 or 2 sides of veggies (try the Charred Broccolini, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and/or Fingerling Potatoes)!. I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with anything. The Wylder is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.

if so, you’ve got to try the gem state of mind pizza at the wylder. we never knew we needed fingerling potatoes on a pizza till taking a bite of this cheesy creation. not only does the wylder have creative takes on classic pizza, they also have delicious fresh salads.

I’ve fallen in love with the sourdough crust that The Wylder serves up!. I am a sucker for great sourdough and theirs is hands down SO GOOD!. The Wylder is centrally located downtown Boise, has inside or patio seating & the option of sitting at a table or the bar.

The Wylder is known in the Treasure Valley for its excellent pizza. It’s also a friendly restaurant for kids. When your family is seated, your waiter will bring apple slices and a fun little twisty toy for your kids.

But if I want to sit in and enjoy a more adventurous locally themed pizza then I'll go and get something like the honey badger or the Gem state of mind (there's potato on that pizza) from The Wylder on Broad St.
