Reviews Summary

Native Brews Tap & Grill offers a unique dining experience with highly praised dishes like the Pecan Crusted Trout and Bourbonzola Burger, alongside a selection of house-brewed beers. While many guests commend the friendly service and great atmosphere, some have encountered issues with wait times and inconsistent food quality. The restaurant is noted for its large portions and accommodating staff, particularly for dietary needs. It's a popular spot for both locals and tourists looking for a taste of Cherokee.

"We had to wait probably 15 minutes while seeing half of the restaurant's tables open. However, that is my only complaint.

The house-brewed Blood Orange Pale Ale was light and delicious. The Bourbonzola burger had amazing flavor combinations and the meat was so tasty and juicy. The Country Fried Steak was my favorite; it managed to be crispy but with tender, delicious meat on the inside and the breading clung to the meat perfectly. Even the corn was delicious. The favorite of our table was the Pecan Crusted Trout. It had a sauce that was indescribably delicious. All in all it was the best lunch I could've asked for in Cherokee. Come here!"

Lucas Chapman

"Friendly staff. Looks clean from what I could see. We were seated quickly, not too busy at 8:00 pm.

The food is mediocre. The trout tasted frozen but they say it is local caught. Brussels were excellent. Mashed potatoes were runny. When we added salt to our meal it helped a little. Definitely not worth $30 we spent. The deviled eggs in the “Say What?” were rubbery. The bacon jam was pretty good but it didn’t help the eggs. Portions are large.

Restroom was out of toilet paper."

Rachael Thatcher

"Great burger. I thought about trying the pimento cheese instead of pepper jack cheese but history tells me it makes the burger mushy so I'll try it next time. The burger bun is sturdy and I'd prefer a lighter one given the choice since I often end up scrapping the bun and making a lettuce wrap.

My wife had salmon on top of her salad which I hear was fantastic and the salmon was cooked exactly to order (medium rare)."

This popular brewpub, with indoor and outdoor seating, is the brainchild of Collette Coggins, a granddaughter of one of the last recorded medicine men in the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Each ale brewed here is inspired by the Cherokee tradition (they used fermented drinks during tribal ceremonies). For an appetizer, try the nachos featuring housemade chips and a golden lager queso.

It’s a very small town so we didn’t have a lot of choices for dinner, but the food at Native Brews was excellent. We were so tired that we were in bed before 9 pm. And we needed all the rest we could get, because our hike the next day was anything but easy.
