Reviews Summary

Juniper Bar and Restaurant is praised for its expertly crafted cocktails and stylish, modern ambiance. Diners highlight delicious dishes like the mushroom tartine and brisket poutine, with many enjoying the friendly and knowledgeable service. Some reviews mention the price point as a bit high, and one noted the food menu felt limited at times, but overall, the experience is highly recommended for its unique offerings and inviting atmosphere.

"Regretfully, we did not get a chance to enjoy dinner at Juniper while we stayed at Hotel VT, but we did make it in for brunch! Started off with espresso and the Cafe Jalisco (a tequila based espresso cocktail), both which were excellent. I enjoyed their mushroom tartine and my husband enjoyed the hash. Both were wonderful! Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was cozy with a style that is both earthy and modern minimalist. I have also enjoyed a couple rounds of cocktails at the bar on a work trip and certainly recommend their drinks to folks who enjoy a carefully crafted cocktail!"

"I’ve thought about the turkey on the fondue plate at least once a day since I’ve had it.

Looooved the fondue for two ($25 per person and there’s a two person minimum), but the portion sizes could have been heartier. I just want more turkey. 😭 excellent quality though!!

I ordered the chicken breast, very good! I could have done without the strange braised cabbage.

My husband orders the steak frites and was happy with it.

Service was great. Relaxing atmosphere.

Bill ended up being just under $150, so a bit pricy.

Would come again for the fondue!"

"Enjoyed some delightful cocktails here. The bartender was super friendly, and I overheard her giving great advice to someone visiting the region for 10 days. I had a that 7 o’clock hour, and a whiskey sour, which were both concocted perfectly. My date and I sat on the outside patio where we could catch a glimpse of lake Champlain, and it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon."

The best restaurants in Burlington, VT

Next door to Hen of the Wood, the house restaurant of Burlington’s favorite hotel, the Hotel Vermont, serves an impressive riposte to its much heralded neighbor, along with some of the best cocktails in town. Like so many of Burlington’s top restaurants, the kitchen focuses on regional, locally sourced cuisine, served here with added organic ambiance in the woody dropped beam ceiling and wall dividers embracing the main dining area. The bar claims particular inspiration from the juniper berry, with cocktails like the Juniper Crush—a blend of Green Mountain gin, juniper berries, and mint—and the best place to enjoy it is on the outdoor patio (complete with fire pit), which looks out to Juniper Island on Lake Champlain.
