Like so many of Burlington’s top restaurants, the kitchen focuses on regional, locally sourced cuisine, served here with added organic ambiance in the woody dropped beam ceiling and wall dividers embracing the main dining area. The bar claims particular inspiration from the juniper berry, with cocktails like the Juniper Crush—a blend of Green Mountain gin, juniper berries, and mint—and the best place to enjoy it is on the outdoor patio (complete with fire pit), which looks out to Juniper Island on Lake Champlain.

From the moment I entered Juniper Bar and Restaurant located in Hotel Vermont, I was greeted with warmth and pleasant service. Whilst the food menu seemed somewhat limited at first glance, the drink menu more than compensated with its extensive variety. With my birthday celebration as an occasion, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and explore their unique offerings.

You'll find locally-inspired light bites like short rib poutine with red wine gravy, a noodle soup with shaved seitan, kimchi, sprouts, and mushroom broth, and hush puppies with black garlic honey.

If you're just looking for a place to have drinks and chat with the person your with juniper at hotel vermont is an upscale place and they have a fire outside with seating. Not really a place to mingle with other people if that's what you're looking for but it is a hotel bar so I'm sure there are people you could strike up a conversation with.

The Daily Planet: The first time I ever had a drink at a bar was here!!. Can’t see it really was my style and I haven’t been back in years but it is definitely a favorite in the local scene. It has hipster-y, boho feel with live music and a great bar menu

Day 2 started with brunch at Juniper, a restaurant also located within Hotel Vermont. Juniper is open for breakfast every week day from 7 am to 10:30 am and 7 am – 1 pm on weekends. The menu changes seasonally and is based on locally sourced ingredients.

Momos (Juniper Bar & Restaurant) Those in our group who ate fish were treated to Lake Champlain perch, one of the oldest foods found during archeological digs in the area, and eaten and sold by migrants for hundreds of years.

Juniper is located right next to Hen of the Wood inside the Hotel Vermont, just above the lobby. We stopped here for a fantastic Eggs Benedict brunch without the long waits and huge crowds at some other popular spots.

Creative cocktails and a ritzy Hotel Vermont location make this bar a prime destination for classing up your game — perhaps with jazz on Wednesdays. In warmer months, chill outdoors by the fire pit.
