What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pizzeria Verità is celebrated for its exceptional wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas and creative cocktails, with many praising the tangy dough and gourmet, locally sourced toppings. The atmosphere is consistently described as warm and buzzy, though some diners have found certain dishes like the Caesar salad to be just average. Reservations are highly recommended, and while most reviews are glowing, a few have noted inconsistencies in pizza quality.
"The Margherita pizza lived up to the hype from other reviews when I was searching for a place to eat in Burlington. The dough had a delightful tang, and the pizza was baked to perfection. The Tiramisu was simply divine—an absolute must-try! Watching the pizza chefs in action while waiting for my food was a fantastic bonus."

"We stopped by Pizzeria Verità and were blown away by how good the pizza was! My husband and I started with the Caesar salad, then ordered the Ring of Fire pizza along with another pizza topped with roasted chicken and pesto (I can’t remember the exact name).
Both pizzas were incredible—so flavorful and perfectly cooked. My only minor note is that the Ring of Fire had way more Calabrese peppers than expected—it wasn’t just a little heat, it was a lot! We ended up removing some, but it was still delicious overall.
We wish we had room to try more from their menu, but we’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Vermont!"

"This is one of my favorite restaurants in Burlington. The food and service are always great. I highly recommend the Caesar salad and fresh mozzarella. I always get the pepperoni pizza and it hits every time. Their cocktails are also amazing- I’d say they make the best spicy margarita around here."

The truth is in the dough" is the long-standing motto of Burlington's destination for expert Neopolitan pies. The bubbled, chewy crusts are flame-kissed by live fire, and Italian-inspired ingredients are sourced mostly from local farmers like the house-made mozzarella that graces classics like the beautifully simple Margherita. But don't overlook inventive pizzas like the popular Mais, which is an enticing combination of fire-roasted sweet corn, crème fraîche, fior di latte (fresh mozzarella), and crackly edged slices of speck.
The Best of Burlington: Recommendations for Dining, Drinking, and Vermont Wine
For drinks, I love Sotto Enoteca, a subterranean spot with elegant cocktails and thoughtfully chosen wines; just down the street is a Neopolitan-style pizza joint called Pizzeria Verita, which has a kick-ass cocktail list, as well as exquisite pies. Bluebird Tavern can always be counted on for unusual drinks, great wines and exquisite dishes; same for Hen of the Wood. Unfortunately my favorite spot for wine and small plates, Pistou, closed earlier this spring; I’ve heard that the chef (Max MacKinnon) is now in the kitchen of Fish & Game in Hudson, NY, but I hope he has his own place again someday.
Good Eats in a Crunchy Town: A Restaurant Guide to Burlington, Vermont
This is hands down Burlington’s best pizza, serving up wood-fired pies with a deliciously smoky, crispy crust. Beyond that, their toppings are gourmet and often locally sourced – ranging from creamy burrata cheese from Bennington’s Maplebrook Farm to their own house-made sausage. If you’re not interested in filling up on pizza, no problem; it’s also a great place to have one of the area’s numerous craft beers (and Vermont has more breweries per capita than any other state, so there’s a lot of them to try).

The 25 Best Gluten-Free Restaurants in Burlington
A place that advertises an entirely separate GF oven and has vegan cheese sounds perfect for our family. But their GF dough is made of wheat starch, which is NOT sufficiently free of protein for many with celiac and anyone with allergies. No sense having a dedicated space if you are using ingredients that quite possibly contain gluten (speaking as a health professional who has done the research on wheat starch ppm of gluten).
