What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mediterranean Deli is praised for its authentic, flavorful Mediterranean cuisine, with many highlighting the crispy falafel, creamy hummus, and delicious desserts like baklava. The warm, bustling ambiance and friendly service contribute to a positive dining experience, making it a beloved local spot. Some minor inconsistencies in wraps and pasta salad have been noted, but overall, it's a highly recommended destination for generous portions and great value.
"Med Deli has been a staple in my life for over a decade now, so when it came time to decide where my husband and I were going to get catering for our wedding, there was only one choice in our minds. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint. In fact, they completely exceeded our expectations. If I could give them six stars, I would. The food was delicious and most importantly hot. The buffet was organized (they had labels for allergies/dietary options and kept things stocked). Their service team was attentive and even helped clean up the venue at the end of the night."

"So I usually pick up my food at the student store I get either the buffalo chicken wrap or the sundried tomato pasta Buffalo chicken wrap is a gamble since it’s hit or miss. You either get a wrap that has little to no sauce and is super dry or a wrap that has a crap ton of romaine lettuce with little to no chicken Or you get both!!!
The picture is my first bite which was so dry I had to spit it out half my wrap was just lettuce. If they added more sauce and less lettuce it taste better.
The pasta salad either comes ok or frozen and filled with a lot of water once it defrosts which makes the pasta go from dry and cracked to soggy an flavorless I also feel like they need to add more flavor to the pasta salad cus you can’t taste the garlic or seasonings.
I also check the dates to make sure it’s new and not expiring."

"A Sunday lunch, there's a short wait at the queue line, about 10 minutes or so outside. This place reopened recently and was featured in local news, and definitely has some buzz.
Ordered two mix platters of Gyro & Chicken with a choice of 2 sides. Feels like to many choices for the sides... I had an avocado salad with feta and a chicken salad with grapes.
Food is excellent, what can I say. You have a sauce station of sort, for refills. I had rose water tea, loved it; fountain drinks seem to be complimentary. Friend ordered a desert, Lemon Cello cake, said it was great. A bit loud of chatter when full. Parking can be an issue at times, there is a paid lot across the street, left of McDs. Overall, very satisfied with this meal experience, and will be back."

A Car-Free Summer Weekend Guide for Chapel Hill, NC
Though our stomachs were already full when we visited Mediterranean Deli, our eyes were plenty hungry. Thankfully, the displays of pastries, fresh pita, prepared foods, and an olive bar provided a visual feast. We picked up a few pieces of baklava for the road (but honestly, not enough!) and made a mental note of their market selection for future visits to better stock our pantry.
