Reviews Summary

Diners rave about 167 Raw Oyster Bar, consistently praising the exceptional freshness and quality of the seafood, particularly the oysters and lobster rolls. The lively atmosphere and attentive service contribute to a highly memorable dining experience. While wait times can be significant, patrons widely agree that the culinary delights make it well worth the anticipation.

"Received truly the height of professional, attentive, but also perfectly non-intrusive service tonight from Jordan (our server) and Taylor (our “culinary guide,” as we were seated right at the open kitchen — a special kind of treat!). They were amazing. The food has no competition — we felt like we were partying in the Hamptons all night long. I can’t say enough great things — y’all please keep this train of excellence cruising right along. We can’t wait to be back!!"

Franklin McGuire

"Food was phenomenal. Was quoted 2 hour wait, ended up being about an hour and 45 mins which was a nice surprise! This place is absolutely worth the wait. Had some raw oysters and shrimp as a starter, came with 3 unique delicious sauces, so good! I had lobster roll and my friend had the seared scallops. Both were amazing! Best and most fresh lobster roll I have had in Charleston. Lastly we each had a Mexican chocolate pudding which was fantastic and decadent. Highly recommend this place and will come back again! Service was fairly decent as well! Thank yall so much for a great experience !"

Summer VanErp

"We got lucky and got seated right away. Service was top notch and the food was amazing. I don’t even know what to recommend since every dish was better than the last. Truly an unbelievable experience of your taste buds!"

Our Top 50: Eating well

Surrounded by high-end boutiques, swanky inns, antique stores and art galleries, 167 Raw’s King Street home sits along a quiet stretch of storefronts. But fear not, it still boasts the same lineup of New England bivalves and lobstah rolls that were much-lauded at its existing original (and teeny) spot at 289 East Bay St., which now operates as 167 Sushi Bar. The first floor of 167 Raw’s ever-so-charming 19th century building is long and narrow, with original brick walls and a walnut bar.

167 Raw is truly one of the best local seafood focused spots in downtown Charleston, where you can always trust there to be an endless oyster supply… and probably a long wait unless you get there early. 167 Raw doesn’t do reservations, but their sister spot (167 Sushi) does. I say put your name in then go around the corner to the aesthetically pleasing Bar 167, order a cocktail or mini martini, and it won’t even feel like a wait!
