We checked out Millers All Day Charleston on King Street. Yes, the one everyone is searching right now, and here’s my honest take: 🔸 Biscuits & Gravy (husband and I both ordered): This dish is everything you want it to be. The biscuit? Buttery, flaky, and melt-in-your-mouth. The rosemary spiced gravy? Rich, peppery, and packed with flavor - obvious comfort food. I could eat it every day and still ...

Reviews Summary

Millers All Day is celebrated for its delicious Southern comfort food, with many raving about the creamy grits, fluffy biscuits, and particularly the immense cinnamon rolls. The service is consistently praised as friendly and attentive, enhancing the welcoming atmosphere. While popular, be prepared for a wait, especially on weekends, though many find the experience well worth it.

"Miller’s All Day is exactly the kind of place you want to linger over breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere has such a fun, retro diner vibe with a Charleston twist—it feels welcoming the moment you walk in. The food is not only beautifully presented but absolutely delicious. Their grits are some of the creamiest I’ve ever had, and the biscuits are perfectly fluffy and buttery. My coffee stayed full (always a plus!) and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made.

The staff was so friendly and attentive without being rushed, which really added to the experience. You can tell they care about both the food and the people they serve. It’s one of those spots that makes you want to come back again and again—whether for a slow morning or to show off Charleston to out-of-town guests.

If you’re in town and want a true taste of Southern breakfast done right, Miller’s All Day is a must!"

Amber Mullis

"For the love of God…. GET THE CINNAMON ROLL. It’s made from a biscuit and it is absolutely divine. We also split a sandwich which was good but the cinnamon roll is a modern fear of baking. Huge, thick, tender, and the cream cheese frosting is perfectly and lightly sweetened.

Be prepared to wait for a table on the weekends. It’s much easier to get a bad seat if you’re just two people."

Tiffany Macisaac

"It felt very crowded... And not just because it was actually crowded. I know some people prefer that vibe, but it's generally not mine. The tables were all packed in and (thankfully) there were 3 different bar areas that were first come, first serve, so we didn't have to wait. We sat in the front window bar, which did offer a little more privacy out of the noise.

🍹 Hubby drank the Hot Honey Old Fashioned and he enjoyed it. I'm not always a fan of old fashioneds but I could appreciate the flavor combos of this drink.

🍹I had the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini. I couldn't really taste the salted caramel, but it was still good.

🍽️ We shared the King Street Bowl. While it was good, it wasn't mind blowing. There were only 4 "home fries", which were just 4 very overcooked and crunchy potatoes (I actually thought they were croutons). The gravy was good and the pimento cheese added a nice bonus flavor. I would definitely try something else on the menu next time.

We plan to try one of the other locations next time as this one did seem overly crowded, probably a tourist location."

What is it: Millers All Day is the perfect place for those who think that brunch should not be limited to just the weekends. Millers serves a great menu full of favorites—think waffles, biscuits and gravy, and a rotating grits bowl—every day of the week. And since it’s not really brunch without a proper drink, the venue’s specialty cocktails (like the super popular brunch punch, a frozen concoction that’s deceivingly delicious and easy to drink) make the perfect pairing with any menu item.

The Recs: Shrimp and Grits in Charleston

Quite a few Charleston restaurants serving grits brag about sourcing their grains from Marsh Hen Mill, but only Millers All Day can boast of having Greg Johnsman, the owner of the mill, as a co-owner. Here, the shrimp and grits is made with Marsh Hen Mill’s Jimmy Red Corn grits, which Johnsman spent eight years cultivating and milling the almost-extinct variety of kernels. The resulting hominy is topped with shrimp, local mushrooms, scallions, and toasted benne seeds, a type of sesame seed brought by the Gullah Geechee people from West Africa to the Lowcountry that has been revived in cultivation, due to the growing interest in heritage grains.
