When we headed out on this sunny and warm Saturday, we had no real plans for where we were going to eat. We’d had a breakfast of waffles, bacon, and eggs at home, so it was a while before we were hungry. We knew we wanted to have a late lunch, but when we started feeling the hunger pangs, we couldn’t think of anywhere to go…and then it hit me.

One of the best Chattanooga restaurants is hands down, Boathouse. Located on the Tennessee River, the views from your seat make for one of the most romantic dinners in downtown Chattanooga. As a premier location, the Boathouse offers guests the city’s most spectacular view of the Tennessee River vista.

The Boathouse – website – Written in 2022: I had the best salmon burger I’ve ever had, while Aura had the wood grilled shrimp. We started with some golden, flaky onion rings. And, I had a couple of mojitos that were refreshing – they didn’t skimp on the booze either.

On a pre-quarantine visit to Tennessee, we decided to stop for brunch in Chattanooga for some fresh seafood. Our pick for one of the best restaurants goes to The Boathouse located on the Tennessee River in the stylish Riverwalk area.

A local favorite, the phrase ‘bee’s knees” originated in the prohibition-era and meant “the best.” This cocktail contains gin, honey liquor + syrup, sugar cane syrup, and fresh-squeezed lemon juice.

Others I love: Main Street Meats, Easy Bistro, Boathouse, Food Works. I’ve also heard great things about Calliope and Six18 and they are on my list to try, but I haven’t been yet.
