Run by brothers Rob and Clay Gentry, Hello Monty has a strong background in both Chattanooga restaurants and in brewing. According to their website, “The pair have an impressive pedigree: Rob was the first commercial brewer in Chattanooga since Prohibition and Clay has brewed professionally longer than anyone else in the city.” All of the food at Hello Monty encounters fire, so the menu is filled with blistered, charred, blackened, and roasted fare–with all of the depth of flavor you’d expect from a touch of flame. Don’t miss the Icy Blue Mussels, the Blistered Tomato Toast, or the Springer Mountain Farms chicken with spiced yogurt marinade and pickled onions.

Hello Monty: We haven’t been here yet, but friends who have young kids have recommended it. They have patio dining and, for the little ones, child seats that hook to the table. Hello Monty opened in 2021 and contains a true brewery, Dynamo Brewing, within its walls. Though the name is new to most, the brothers who run the place are recognizable to any Chattanoogan who loves craft beer. Restaurateur Rob Gentry and brewer Clay Gentry, along with restaurateur Tim Hennen, are responsible for bringing craft beer back to Chattanooga.

While only opening in the fall of 2022, Hello Monty is already giving other brunch-serving restaurants a run for their money. Located in the Southside historic district, Hello Monty poises itself as a perfect gathering space to catch up with friends over a great meal. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m.
