Reviews Summary

Rembrandt's Coffee House is celebrated for its charming European ambiance, exceptional coffee, and a delightful array of freshly baked pastries and desserts. Diners rave about the tranquil outdoor patio and the high quality of their baked goods. While the coffee and treats are consistently praised, some reviews mention that egg dishes may not be as fresh due to the focus on baking, and service can be slow during busy periods.

"If I'm anywhere near downtown Chattanooga, Rembrandt's Coffee House is an absolute must-visit for me. The moment I walk in, I'm hit with the most amazing fresh smell of coffee and baked goods — it immediately sets the tone for a great experience. The vibe feels warm, welcoming, and full of character.

I love their cozy outdoor seating area — it’s perfect for enjoying a coffee while soaking up the relaxed atmosphere. Speaking of coffee, it might just be the best-tasting coffee I've had in the entire region. It's rich, smooth, and brewed just right.

The food is just as impressive. I tried the Mediterranean wrap and the egg and cheese biscuit, and both were packed with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Whether I’m looking for a quick coffee break, a peaceful spot to get some work done, or just a place to relax, Rembrandt’s always hits the mark for me. Highly recommend checking it out!"

"One of the most praised aspects of Rembrandt is its wonderful garden ambiance and inviting outdoor seating area. Many describe it as a tranquil haven that makes you forget you're even in downtown Chattanooga, a perfect spot to relax and unwind with your coffee and pastries.

Rembrandt's has garnered a reputation for its freshly baked goods, including delicious scones and a variety of other pastries. Reviewers specifically rave about items like Cranberry Walnut Scone, St. Tropez and freshly baked breads. The coffee itself is consistently praised as being high-quality and delicious, with a wide selection of espresso drinks, lattes, and drip coffee options available on the menu.

Beyond the delectable treats and beverages, Rembrandt's is praised for its friendly and efficient staff who contribute to the overall inviting atmosphere. The shop's European flair and charming decor also receive positive mentions, enhancing the overall experience.

While some reviews mention potential for slow service during busy times, the overall consensus is that Rembrandt Coffee Shop is a must-visit for its unique ambiance, delicious baked goods, and fantastic coffee."

"Rembrandt’s is one of Chattanooga’s gems—tucked in the Bluff View Arts District, it’s the perfect spot to relax with a great cup of coffee. The atmosphere is cozy and European-inspired, with a charming patio that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a little café overseas.

The coffee is always smooth and flavorful, and they offer a wide variety of drinks, from perfectly crafted lattes to refreshing iced options. Their pastries and desserts are just as impressive—fresh, beautifully presented, and the perfect complement to any drink.

Whether you’re stopping by for a quiet morning coffee, catching up with friends, or just looking for a place to slow down and enjoy the view, Rembrandt’s delivers every time. A must-visit in Chattanooga!"

Rembrandt’s Coffee House is named after the great Dutch artist of the 17th century Rembrandt van Rijn. The coffee house is housed inside a French style stucco building in the Bluff View Art District that was redeveloped during the 1990s and now contains artisan bakeries, a sculpture garden, the River Gallery, and is just a minute walk from the Hunter Museum of American Art on the Tennessee River. Rembrandt’s Coffee House was opened in 1994 and has since picked up countless awards and plaudits from the press.

Eating at a new restaurant, drinking coffee at Rembrandt’s, walking on the bridge, wondering what the coming days (months, years…) have in store. The excitement of a new relationship…which, in our case anyway, eventually gave way to the excitement of a longterm (i.e. lifelong) relationship, but the kind where holding hands and talking about when we first met (at Chuck E. Cheese’s, where I was convinced that he hated me for months before we eventually became friends-we didn’t date until much later) never gets old. Or just hanging out on the couch and pretending like the rest of the world doesn’t exist, which is what we do most nights.

Bite into hand-made chocolate filled with whiskey (must be 21!) and sip on a steamy latte on the patio at Rembrandt’s Coffee House while literally smelling the next batch of beans being roasted a few hundred feet away. Choosing between the create-your-own-combo house-made angel hair pasta with wild mushroom tomato sauce or the chicken and spinach cannelloni from Tony’s Pasta Shop & Trattoria is a tough choice to make - but we know you can do it. And they never forget to give you Bluff View Bakery’s giant-roasted-garlic-clove-infused bread.
