Reviews Summary

The Hot Chocolatier is lauded for its exceptionally rich and decadent hot chocolate, as well as its impressive array of artisanal truffles and pastries. Diners frequently praise the cozy atmosphere and friendly service, making it a go-to spot for sweet indulgence. However, a few reviews mention issues with freshness of baked goods and high prices, with one reviewer noting rude staff.

"Was visiting Chattanooga for an event at The Signal and stopped by at the Hot Chocolatier before the show. What a beautiful find.

The space is so quaint and adorable. Very rustic with lots of character.

The service was astounding. The ladies were so friendly.

The food and beverages were phenomenal!

I was so impressed by it all!

"Very nice and welcoming space. Great selection of desserts, chocolate, and coffee drinks. Didn’t have any food but baked goods were great. Enjoyed the drinks but definitely on the very sweet side. Tons of choice with a very patient staff that made things not enjoyable. Parking in area is all pay but not to hard to find."

"If you want a decadent indulgence, treat yourself to a hot chocolate and slice of cake at the Hot Chocolatiers. Probably the smoothest chocolate ever made. The atmosphere is cozy with lots of natural wood and soft lighting. I purchased a box of 12 truffles for $44 with tip. The truffle assortment appeals to all tastes with mint, whiskey, lemon, salted caramel, pecan, strawberry, and many more fillings. A nice selection of grab and go items too. The only drawback was the parking. I don’t know why Chattanooga is so un-business friendly with its parking, but I wish Hot Chocolatier would open at Gunbarrel or Cambridge Square, where it is easy to access."

Don’t say no to the dessert menu—the Hot Chocolatier with two convenient locations (in the heart of downtown on Market Street and right at the base of Lookout Mountain in St Elmo) is where Chattanoogans go to satisfy their sweet tooth. Go for a classic hot chocolate, explore seasonal menu items like strawberry-shortcake white hot chocolate, or take home a box of small-batch bonbons as a gift just in time for the holidays. For desserts to dip into rather than sip, the praline caramel carrot cake and the chocolate chip cookie banana pudding at Public House are not to be missed.
