What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Jina Yoo's Asian Bistro is celebrated for its inventive sushi rolls and flavorful Asian-fusion dishes, with many praising the high quality of food and personalized service from the owner. However, some diners have experienced significant delays in service, leading to disappointment, and a few have found certain dishes to be bland or overly spicy.
"Great place for any occasion.
Jina Yoo’s is the best Asian Bistro in Columbia, MO. The chef here takes classic sushi and puts a unique spin on it which turns into an extremely delicious new creation. About a couple dozen of options along with the simplistic classic styles and other different sushi choices. Then there’s another side to the menu with more entree options such as B.A.P.T. (Bad @$$ Pad Thai) is the best Pad Thai you will ever eat. Among other dishes that are equally amazing. Staff is mostly young; most are good employees but sometimes you’ll run into the typical downfalls for the generation they’re from. Nonetheless, the owner works probably every single night because no matter what day I go, she is always there busting her ass working. She’ll go around to each table and ask how they like their food. The owner has a lot of passion and you can experience it through her food, drinks and the fantastic dining experience that you’ll have here. There is a nice patio too."

"If you haven’t tried Jina Yoo’s, you’re missing out! This is one of our absolute favorites in Columbia.
It is upscale Asian with a plethora of items to choose from. We have enjoyed everything we’ve tried - from appetizers to pad thai to sushi.
My favorite is Jina’s pad thai with chicken - I get it every time. We typically get Jina’s Balls or the Crabby Basket for an appetizer - both are delicious! We have also tried a few sushi’s and have enjoyed them all. The quality of food and service is high.
Drinks from the bar have also always been good. Staff is knowledgeable about the menu and very accommodating for food allergies. Absolutely no negative things to say about this restaurant, and always looking forward to the next time we visit! Can’t recommend enough."

"We got the Pad Thai and Cupid’s Butt roll. I know that their Pad Thai is a special recipe, but it was almost completely lacking in sauce/flavor. I don’t know if they forgot to add something, but it was fairly bland. The roll was great! We got carry out and it was ready when we got there."

5 Sushi Restaurants in Columbia, Missouri That Will Never Fail You
Jina’s, as many locals call it, is my personal favorite sushi place in CoMo. The menu includes an extensive list of delectable sushi rolls along with several unique but delicious food items ranging from your expected edamame and steamed dumplings to Jina’s special rice balls. When the server brings you your food, you are sure to be in for a treat; Jina’s rolls have always looked more like art to me than food and taste even better than they look.
Sushi to Your Taste: Explore the Different Varieties, Styles Possible
If you have been around Columbia and are a lover of sushi, you have probably been to her namesake restaurant, Jina Yoo’s Asian Bistro, or her second Columbia restaurant, Le Bao Asian Eatery, featuring steam buns and ramen. Maybe you’ve tried her delicious sushi at the Lake, where she runs the sushi menu at Backwater Jack’s.
The best and worst of Columbia sushi
As far as Jina Yoo’s is concerned, the less said, the better. The rice was mealy, the fish had a weird waxy texture and the rolls simply didn’t compete with Kobe’s or Kabuki’s offerings. I kept thinking, if they stopped adding so much rice, the dishes could have worked.
