Diners frequently praise the expertly crafted cocktails and excellent service. However, some patrons have experienced inconsistencies with food temperature and preparation, leading to disappointment.
"Greeted by the sweet gentleman who valet parked our car. Walked into a fantastic old building with so much charm. High ceilings and exposed brick. I believe it was a machine shop with a hotel next store at one time. Had a charming table in the middle of the restaurant with cozy vibes. Our server Devin was kind and personable with a great overall knowledge of the menu. We shared fresh burrata with melon and a pickle cheese board. Outstanding with so much flavor. Being a vegetarian I had a pasta dish with cream and fresh vegetables which included zucchini, squash and tomatoes. My guests each had shrimp and grits. The grits are farmed from NC and the shrimp was the perfect size and full of flavor. Yes a spoon was also provided to lap it all up. The cocktails were delicious as well as a lovely bottle of red wine - Sangiovese- from Italy. Crème brûlée in a generous-sized ramekin was our dessert choice which was outstanding. Truly a special dining experience celebrating my son’s birthday. We will be back. A little gem in a sweet little city. Thank you!"

"Frustrating place.
This place has so much potential...but at their current price points for the quality of food and wait times...I can't see these folks being in business much longer to be quite honest. The bartender was great, made some beautiful cocktails that tased great. The overall theme of the place to me was it's an imposter. It puts on this facade of a high end place...in reality the food was meh at best. Valet parking, $15-18 cocktails, bunch of skinny blonde female employees...all the bells all the whistles. The concept that these foods are coming from local is great too, love the changing menu and the re-use of old menu's as coasters.
My problem is with the actual food that was served. it just was not good, nor did I perceive the value at all.
Almost $20 for a appetizer salad...lets say that again...almost $20 for an appetizer salad. Additionally I ordered the duck which was slow cooked or something in excess as my duck was the texture of pulled chicken. It had a nice sear on the skin but most likely the worst duck I've ever had in my 40+ years of restaurant dining. Even when I attempted to cook duck the first few times I prepared it better. Overall extremely disappointed with the duck to say the least. My wife ordered a strip steak...she claimed it to be ok. It was cold upon receiving her plate. So...$150 later, I left disappointed and feeling like this restaurant got me...they got me alright.
It did seem like we waited a little longer than we should have given the size of the restaurant and 530pm reservation..."

"Great food, drinks, and ambiance. Cocktails were on par with the best that I've had anywhere else. Doug was on point with the service. Food was cooked and prepared perfectly. Can't say enough good things about this place."

Since 1989, when it opened in a renovated 1800s engine supply building, Motor Supply Co. has been at the heart of the historic Congaree Vista scene.
