Reviews Summary

Doc's Seafood and Steaks offers a lively waterfront dining experience with delicious fresh seafood and steaks, often complemented by live music and stunning sunset views. While many praise the attentive service and great atmosphere, some diners mention long wait times and uncomfortable seating. The menu is seafood-heavy with bold flavors, which may not suit all palates, but the overall consensus is a positive one for those seeking a vibrant coastal meal.

"This is our new favorite place to eat in Corpus Christi. The food and service were both amazing. I highly recommend both the Clam Chowder - which rivals that from New England. Also the clam strips - a dish that's oddly difficult to find - were buttery and delicious. Our server was excellent. We were there on a Saturday evening and there was live music with a talented performer. The view is great! We will definitely be back the next time we are in town!"

Joy Anderson

"This was our favorite place by far on our visit to the area. Yes, the food was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was great!! But the service was beyond 5 stars. Our server, Lauren P. made our experience here exemplary! She was so attentive, friendly, and informative to all our questions. Made our visit more memorable and fun. We chose to go with the two different fish options that were caught that day. The cooks here clearly know what they're doing, as our food was delicious. They had a live singer performing near the front door in the bar area. Below the restaurant if you have a long wait (which is worth it!) Is another bar area you can enjoy and pass the time. If we ever get to come back to visit the area, this restaurant will be on top of our list."

Chadwick Domack

"Our visit to Doc’s Seafood and Steaks was a decent overall experience, but it had a mix of positives and drawbacks. We waited about an hour and 15 minutes to be seated, which was expected for the busy evening, but worth noting if you’re visiting during peak times. The menu is heavily seafood-focused, with many dishes prepared blackened or jerk-style, so there’s a fair amount of spice. If you’re not into seafood or bold flavors, your options are somewhat limited.

The setting is one of the highlights — you can sit near the edge and enjoy a nice view of the water, which adds to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the chairs were hard and lacked any lumbar support, making them uncomfortable for a long meal.

Our server was friendly and attentive, which helped balance out some of the food concerns. The burgers we tried were very charred and didn’t have much seasoning; the sauces provided most of the flavor, so without them, they would have been pretty bland.

The lower-level area offers games like cornhole and the ring-and-hook game, along with some live music, which creates a casual, fun vibe. However, it also had an unpleasant smell of spilled beer and even urine, which was off-putting and made us question the cleanliness in that area.

In short, seafood lovers who enjoy a lively, waterfront atmosphere will probably appreciate this place more than we did. For non-seafood eaters, the limited menu and mixed food quality may not make it worth the wait."
