"Woah. Some of the best chicken you'll ever have. Amazing all around. The beans were also phenomenal. Coleslaw and potatoes were also stellar. You can either go through the drive through, or order at the front of the building. It's a take out place. There are a couple picnic tables to eat if you want to eat outside there, but they pack the food in some "to go" containers that are easy to eat elsewhere.

They "prefer" cash type of place. Great prices though. Easy parking if doing counter service.

Just go, it may be the best food you eat while in the area."

"While spending some time in Custer, we stopped at Dakota Broasted for lunch before an afternoon of kayaking at Sylvan Lake.

We ordered at the window and had a great conversation with the gentleman taking our order. Even though it was brief, it was one of those interactions that really stood out, genuine and memorable. If he was the owner, it speaks volumes about how he approaches his business. It wasn’t just about serving food, it was about creating a friendly, personal experience.

During our chat, we learned that their chicken is never frozen and before we even sat down at one of the outdoor benches, we had a feeling the food was going to be fantastic.

It absolutely was. The broasted chicken and potato wedges were the best we’ve ever had. Thankfully, we had leftovers, which were just as good later that evening and even the next morning.

If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by, you won’t be disappointed.

Also, be aware, the box of wedges is huge and easily enough to feed two to four people.

It may be years before I find myself back in Custer, but if Dakota Broasted is still there, I’ll definitely be back."
