"Before starting my day, I came across this amazing place, and even though I was far from home, I was greeted with a taste that made me feel right at home. Especially at this early hour, finding freshly made, piping hot gravy was an incredible feeling. On top of that, being served fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon was just perfect.

The location is just a few minutes from Mount Rushmore, so after my museum visit and a few nature trails, I came back here for lunch. The lunch was just as high-quality, delicious, and carefully prepared as the breakfast. I’m feeling great, and for that reason, I’m giving 5/5 for both location and food.

The restaurant is spacious and perfectly suited to host large groups comfortably. There’s also a massive buffalo inside—don’t forget to take a picture with it, and don’t worry, it’s very friendly :) The restrooms were clean and fully stocked with napkins, so I’m giving 5/5 for atmosphere as well.

Many thanks to the Fat Sam’s family and kitchen staff for giving me this wonderful experience. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. See you next summer! For all these reasons, my service rating is also 5/5."

"I called in and ordered two burgers with well done fries. I asked about making it a double burger and was told that the burgers were 1/3 pound burgers. Turns out I would have wanted the double because it was not big at all. The burger had no flavor to it at all. The fries were not well done and when I called the number the owner was in New York and told me to go down to get my fries cooked more. I didn’t have time to do that I was on my lunch break.
I have eaten multiple burgers in the Keystone area and this was by far the WORST burger I have had in this area.
I wish I didn’t spend my money here."
