Reviews Summary
Uchi Denver is lauded for its outstanding Japanese cuisine, particularly its exceptionally fresh and creative sushi and sashimi. Diners rave about the Omakase experience and the beautifully presented, flavorful dishes. While the elegant ambiance and attentive service contribute to a memorable dining experience, some guests find the prices high and the portions small, making it more suitable for special occasions.
"Wow. What an incredible experience here at Uchi Denver. Friendly staff with the best recommendations. We had the omakase and every single course was unbelievable. It was the perfect amount of food for two people and we were able to try all of these different dishes. They through in a few extras which were fantastic. You get a fifty dollar gift card and some goodies along with the omakase experience which makes it even more worth it. Definitely suggest making a reservation here if you are in the area.
Now for my standard comments. Location is clean and well kept. Indoor seating is comfortable and I believe they may also have outdoor options."

"Date night early evening on a Saturday. We were at the Nuggets playoff game and had to call and push our reservation back by 30 minutes which they graciously accommodated.
Server seemed overwhelmed and the runners did most of the work. Overall the service was a 7/10. I expected more for the price. We did the omakase tasting and it was fantastic. 9/10. We did send back the pork belly as it was overcooked. Cocktails were fantastic for the price. Atmosphere 9/10. A bit dated but the sound level and spacing was great. We did it once, we don’t need to come back. One of the most expensive meals we’ve had at $370 for both."

The 12 Best Sushi Spots In Denver - Denver
Uchi may not be a Denver original (it started in Austin around twenty years ago and there are now spots in Miami and Dallas), but the sleek restaurant with its sustainable rooftop greenhouse fits perfectly into its almost-but-not-quite- RiNo neighborhood. There are many ways to experience the aquatic glory that is Uchi: a 10-course omakase in a private room, Happy Hour nigiri in the lounge, or splitting some miso lobster in the dining room. But don’t overlook the simplicity of grabbing a stool at the bar, closing your eyes, and pointing at something off the always excellent list of daily specials.

James Beard Award winner Tyson Cole chose Denver for his first restaurant outside of Texas because he was attracted to the lifestyle here. But if he's taking advantage of all the city has to offer, he's also contributing to it immensely: Since its opening in Fall 2018, Uchi has raised the local bar for Japanese cooking. The sushi—including ever-changing specials like star butterfish from Toyosu Market or Santa Barbara sea urchin—stuns, as do painterly composed plates such as the signature yellowtail in ponzu with orange segments and Thai chilies.
