Reviews Summary

Vicente's Cuban Cuisine is praised for its authentic and delicious food, with many highlighting the Ropa Vieja and other traditional dishes. The vibrant atmosphere, often featuring salsa dancing, and friendly service, particularly from bartenders and specific servers, are frequently mentioned positives. While most reviews are glowing, some note that drinks can be on the pricier side.

"We tried quite a few things on the menu. Will definitely go back when there's a chance. We'll need to try more and different items. Red sangria was outstanding too!"

Ken Nichol

"A good Cuban restaurant in downtown Detroit.

We came for a small get together with some friends on a weekday night and had a great time.

The bartender is fantastic, very friendly and makes a great cocktail. The drinks are VERY expensive, but it's worth it from time to time for a good drink.

The service was great, the servers and manager were very nice, helpful, and they checked on us frequently.

The food was good, the apps were great. We also had some salads and entrees and everything was good. I'm told by my group that there is better Cuban food elsewhere but this is the best I have ever had, which I admit has not been very many times.

Overall I think this place is great, great service, great drinks, and good food.

Recommended."

Joseph Sanchez

"Great server and excellent food. Only complaint a homeless guy dumped his beer out on the patio. Nothing they could have done about it. However, the manager came out helped the man and cleaned up the mess!

My friend and I had two different shrimp meals and appetizers. I also had bread and a side ceasar all amazing. Go for happy hour apps are 1/2 off and drink specials to boot."

Best Restaurants in Detroit for Traditional Latin & Mexican Street Food

You’ll find every manner of Cuban street food presented elegantly on white china in a dining room that was meant for parties at Vicente's. In addition to the wide array of large plates -- Cuban classics rendered with finesse -- this Library Street powerhouse offers one of the largest collection of street-fare style items in the city. We tried its take on the tamale (huge, covered in tender pork, practically a dinner in itself) as well as the empanadas with a flaky pastry, rich meat seasoned with citrus and lots of spice.
