What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about the historic, Old World charm and the spectacular, award-winning chargrilled steaks and unique pub fare. The calamari, onion rings, and red velvet cake are frequently highlighted as exceptional. While most praise the attentive service and delightful atmosphere, some find the prices to be on the higher side for the portion sizes.
"Really good classical ambience, reminds me of some old school steak houses I've been to in Wyoming that have been around for generations. Service was friendly. Food was spectacular. One of the best calamari I've ever had. We went with the ribeye and some potatoes, you rarely see twice baked potatoes on the menu but theirs was delicious. Little pricey but you get what you pay for in quality.
The red velvet cake was delicious as well. Had to get some dessert to top off the meal even though we were both full."

"We dined early (4:30) to avoid the crowds and it was worth it. We sat at the bar for a cocktail before being seated and the chef was there on a break. We got a chance to chat with him and the bartender about the restaurants history. The drinks were excellent with a good pour. Our server, Marcus, was excellent. He was very attentive and a fun guy to chat with. Something you don’t get unless you dine early. The food was impeccable. I had the prime rib which is finished on a charcoal grill. Probably one of the best tasting primes I’ve ever had. There were also two filets and a ribeye served at our table and all were fantastic. Even the sides were cooked to perfection and very flavorful."

My favorite dish right now is the Peel n' Eat shrimp at Pickwick Restaurant, Carla Hamilton introduced me to the appetizer (and she'd be cranky if I didn't credit her for the discovery! ha). I don't think there's anything like it in Duluth, simple but amazingly flavorful with a little bit of heat to it.
