They are a cash only operation, so keep that in mind and keep cash on hand.

I had to mention the Chocolate Sparrow– not so much for their ice-cream but for their chocolate sauce which is home-made. I am a simple girl when it comes to ice cream and usually order vanilla ice-cream with hot fudge sauce and whip cream. I had a guest comment to me that they would like the Sunday School ice-cream with the Chocolate Sparrow chocolate sauce.

Not only do they serve delicious coffees, but they also have ice cream, desserts such as cake slices, breakfast sandwiches, lunch, candy, fudge, and more. Some might argue that this is the one of the best coffee shops on Cape Cod.

With the love of chocolate and a loan, we started The Chocolate Sparrow, a simple candy shop, in 1989 in North Eastham. Gradually we learned the art of making fine chocolate and the business of selling it. In 1991 we opened a summer shop in Wellfleet.

I go up before Christmas every year to get hot chocolate and get chocolate for the stockings. The hot chocolate is made from their hot fudge. They’re open even during blizzard conditions, which is great for the plow drivers.
