Reviews Summary
Swami's Cafe Encinitas 101 offers a casual dining experience with a prime location overlooking the ocean cliffs, drawing in crowds with its beachy vibes. While many praise the unique breakfast items like pineapple pancakes and Acai bowls, and the convenient self-serve coffee bar, some reviewers mention slow service and inconsistent food quality. The vibrant atmosphere is a definite draw, but be prepared for potential waits, especially during peak times.
"I’ve been coming to Swami‘s for about two decades since I was in high school and it’s always consistently really good. It’s right on beautiful PCH right across from the self-realization center and just above the ocean cliffs. The location truly is one of my favorite parts of coming here. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you so it’s not a traditional full service breakfast restaurant but that just means the tables turn quicker and the wait times are never too long. It does get especially crowded on summer days, especially when the beach is popular so that something to be aware of. They have a small parking lot next-door, but there is also free street and neighborhood parking close by.
For this visit, I chose the El Paso Benedict and really liked it. It’s basically traditional a Benedict, but with chorizo and avocado, which is a great combination for me. One of the things I also love about this place is that you choose what sort of coffee you want from about 10 different options. I chose three different ones while I was there because it is self-serve I was able to make it just how I like. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area or especially to anyone visiting San Diego."

"I would personally rate this place a 2 or 3, but my friends really like their hot dogs, so I’ll give a 4 for the food overall.
Starting with the service, it was very poor. They didn’t have any coffee available because the espresso machine was broken, so I couldn’t get what I came for. When I asked for chai tea, I was told it was the last packet they had.
I ordered waffles, which were served plain with just a few strawberries. It didn’t feel worth the price, and the taste was just okay — I only ate half. On the other hand, my friend really enjoyed his hamburger and said it was one of the best he’s had."

"Great breakfast spot that was able to serve us quickly and without fuss. I ordered a denver omelette and multigrain pancake, both of which were perfect (tip: order the real maple syrup to along with your pancakes!). Our table also ordered the chorizo hash, kids pancakes, and chicken quesadilla. Everybody was happy as a clam. Do not think twice about stopping here!"
