Although Lavery Brewing’s tap room is modest in size, it makes up for it in having about a dozen beers on draft that runs the full spectrum of beer styles. During my visit on the more conventional side, the brewery had Greatest Hits of the 80s (a rather light/mild DIPA), Pretty Visitors (an oat pale ale), and Lace Curtain (a dark Belgian clocking in at 9.3%). On the less conventional side, I opted to try Guava Tango Fruit Tart (a fruited Berliner Weisse), the Blueberry Pree (flavored saison hitting 7%), and That’s Gold Darling (a Horchata pastry stout also at 7%).

Their tasting room is one of the smaller ones in the area and can get quite crowded in the evening and on weekends, so try to visit this one outside of peak hours if you can. During my visit, they featured roughly a dozen different beers that spanned a variety of styles and even featured a few inventive options. In fact, the Massive Mango IPA was my personal favorite of the ones that I tried because it hit a perfect balance of being both fruity and bitter.

Lavery Brewing Company (LBC) in downtown Erie, Michigan is an oasis of craft beer and delicious food. Founded in 2009 by husband and wife team, Jason and Nicole Lavery, LBC has become a staple in the community. Not only do they offer an extensive selection of craft beers, but they also have a full kitchen with delicious food options.

Lunch is a must at nearby Lavery Brewing Co. located in the heart of Erie’s vibrant downtown district. Housed in the old, red-brick Standard building on 12th Street, Lavery’s is like walking into a good friend’s home, warm and inviting. Wood paneling, an open fireplace, even a fun, brightly-colored chalkboard beer menu above the bar.

12th St., is one of the most successful breweries in the area. It recently expanded from a small 40-person tasting room to a 125-person establishment with a fully equipped kitchen. If you haven’t had the pleasure of tasting their signature Dulachan, it’s about time you stopped by and took a sip!

12th St. Tucked in the back of a parking lot, you'd assume it was crumby until you actually see this charming little wooden deck of flowers, picnic tables and Edison lights hanging over your head. It's easy to forget what time it is in this little corner of downtown.

If you've never been to Lavery Brewing Company for a weekend brunch you're missing out!. Try the avocado toast, topped with smoked salmon, pickled jalapeno and herbs. Or there's the breakfast pizza, with roasted tomato sauce, mozzarella, pulled pork and a sunny egg.

Lavery Brewing Company: A new beer collaboration crafted with The Simons Foundation called “In the Path of Totality”, a Czech dark lager, will be available on draft and in cans. Lavery’s kitchen will feature its regular menu selections.

Last September, we brought you the news that the popular Erie Brewery, Lavery Brewing Company, would work towards expanding its taproom at 128 W 12th Street. The space is now open, after a Grand Opening to the public on April 28th.
