Green Papaya on Grand Ave is a beloved Vietnamese spot known for its flavorful, authentic cuisine and generous portions that offer great value. While many praise the delicious food and cozy atmosphere, some diners have noted issues with service speed and consistency, as well as occasional discrepancies in menu pricing. Despite minor drawbacks, it remains a highly recommended destination for those seeking tasty Vietnamese fare.
"Amazing food and service! The crab rangoons were so delicious! I also ordered the #24 fried rice plate and it was so good and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend!"

"The kids & I love their food!! (Hubby is not a fan.) The food is fresh and delicious. They do not have fountain sodas - but have cans. Staff is friendly. Service can be a little slow. Building is nicely decorated and clean. They have pictures of the menu on the TVs throughout the restaurant - helpful to see the different dishes."

"While in Fort Smith for the day we wanted to try this place because of their reviews. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and clean. The staff are very efficient at getting people seated and orders taken. We started with the green papaya salad which was pretty good. I would have liked it a little more spicy and more peanut. The meat was excellent. I then had the Steamed Rice with Chicken and egg roll. The egg roll was the best I have ever had, I am not a fan of egg rolls. The rice was very good but the chicken was way over cooked. I believe my wife had the combination flat noodle bowl and absolutely loved it. Price was fair and service was excellent."

• Green Papaya, with locations on Grand Avenue and U.S. 271, is a favorite for both Smith and Jordan. They suggest the No. 3 Beef Noodle Soup, the No. 13 Bun Tom Xao, the No. 11 Bun Ga Nuong, or the A2, a non-fried shrimp egg roll with great peanut butter and sesame sauce with Sriracha. Large portions are a plus here.

Pho Hoang on the other hand, is in what we think used to be a Mexican restaurant, but at least was something less iconically restaurant-shaped than the others. This is why Pho Hoang, while awfully good, is not quite as good as the others. If it were in, say, an old Pizza Hut, the food would taste that much better.
