Reviews Summary

Hugo's is a long-standing Fayetteville favorite, celebrated for its iconic burgers, cozy basement ambiance, and extensive drink selection. While many praise the delicious food, reasonable prices, and friendly service, some reviews note occasional delays in service during busy periods and that the fries, while popular, might not be the main highlight compared to the burgers.

"This place was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious, great size portions, and very reasonably priced. But the service really takes the cake. We had a large party with kids and split checks. Our server (Gwen) took excellent care of us, got everything spot on even though it was super busy. Everyone in the place seemed genuinely glad to have us there and was really nice. You won't regret the parking search to hit this basement eatery! Really cool decor and vibe!"

Woods Denny

"We arrived at the perfect time for an early dinner with only a 30 minute wait. We were seated but it took 20 minutes for our server to take our drink order, and the table seated after us ordered first. I didn’t mention it because it was busy and although in a bit of a hurry, we were cutting it close timewise. We just ordered a couple burgers, a club, and fries for the table. The club and burgers were delicious and cooked as requested. Our food ended coming out very fast, so I forgot about the delay with ordering. We barely touched the fries due to having plenty of food on our plates, but they also weren’t that special. Perhaps with some ketchup and a carb craving they would’ve been more satisfying but, let’s face it, we went for the delicious burgers. The price was great. Least expensive meal we had while in town. If I’m in need of a burger, I’ll definitely be back."

Nicole Williams

"We went after a long 16 mile day hike and walked straight in and could seat ourselves. Friendly host quickly
Brought us water. We ordered burgers and huge basket of fries. Quick service . Loud talkative environment but in a good way . People were happy and it was good energy!"

Must-Try Local Restaurants In Fayetteville, Arkansas

Primarily a burger joint, the menu at Hugo’s Restaurant hasn’t changed much in the 37 years it’s been open. There is no need for change, as the chefs have attained perfection at what they do. Located in a basement just off of the Historic Fayetteville Square, the restaurant is slightly dark, but that simply adds to the charm.

Since 1977, Hugo’s Restaurant has been a Fayetteville favorite for American food. They have a number of burgers and sandwiches with an array of appetizers to choose from including deep-fried potato skins and nachos. I personally like the sandwiches like the po’boys but the burgers are a fan favorite too.
