One of three concepts he launched within a year (he also started a fajitas delivery service and opened Atico, a rooftop restaurant at the Springhill Suites in the Stockyards), Gemelle is another Love endeavor that marks a first in Fort Worth: Opened last fall, it was the first local restaurant to serve Detroit-style pizza. There are other reasons to like Love’s stylish ode to Italian food: You can sit outside near the sunken garden where some of the restaurant’s produce is plucked; the pasta’s good; and the service and drinks are top-notch, both vastly improved since Gemelle opened. But it’s the pizza you want.

The former dive bar is now an oasis fitted with herb gardens, bocce courts, and it’s also home to his “micro resort” called Hotel Otto, a container hotel located on the vibrant grounds. Intended to offer a quick trip to Capri in its ambiance, with pretty people sipping a Bellini or Negroni poolside, Gemelle is Love’s first true Italian offering. Deep dish, Detroit-style pizzas come in traditional Margherita with imported San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella fior di latte, and freshly snipped basil from the garden.

Chef Tim Love opened Gemelle in 2019 and with love literally in the chef’s name, so what better way to spend Valentine’s Day than at an Italian restaurant with an amazing garden view. Gemelle specializes in Detroit-style pizza, featuring a departure from the traditional round shape to a rectangular, square-cut form. The pizza boasts a thick, crisp crust with burnt edges.

Gemelle is the Italian word for twins, and celebrity chef Tim Love was inspired by (you guessed it) his twin daughters to create this fun and entirely Instagrammable restaurant. Sip a frozen Aperol Spritz (½ off during Apy Hour) at their orange outdoor bar, take a photograph with their LOVE marquee sign, or lounge in a private cabana as you listen to live music.

Next to the Trinity River, Chef Tim Love serves some of the finest Italian food on a patio that’s so Instagrammable that it might as well be Italy, right?. But when the DIY recipes go wrong, it’s nice to only be up the street from the best-tasting pizza and pasta options. So we’ll have to cosplay Europe until the meantime because that’s amore!

It’s spritz o’ clock at all times at Gemelle on White Settlement Road. From their Instagram-worthy bright orange umbrellas and bar, to their bocce ball courts, you’ll feel as if you just stepped into a summer vaca in Italy!. Soak up the sun in this adorable garden patio, with a refreshing cocktail in hand and a wood-fired pizza on it’s way.

Gemelle offers multiple outdoor patio seating and hang out areas that tie together in a way that feels like a resort getaway. The garden is excellent for afternoon spritzes or a happy hour with friends, while the upstairs patio welcomes diners to stay a way. Both spaces represent an elegance to Fort Worth’s outdoor dining scene.

At his flagship Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, in Fort Worth, he’s built a reputation on the likes of wagyu ribeyes and smoked venison short ribs. But he’s always had a thing for Italian food. So when a suburban restaurant space became available, he jumped at the chance to try something new.

Their version features a blend of escarole and bok choy, creating a refreshing and crisp base for the dish. The salad is dressed with a tangy anchovy-lime vinaigrette, adding a zesty flavor profile. Shavings of Grana Padano cheese provide a rich, nutty taste and extra texture.

The Italian oasis with its sunken Positano-style gardens in the River District is one of Fort Worth’s most coveted backyard scenes. Hotel Otto’s container pool just adds to the ambience, and the food and drink create an Italian fantasy equal to its setting.
