Reviews Summary

Waters Restaurant is lauded for its exceptional seafood, particularly its fresh oysters and critically acclaimed crab cakes. Diners frequently praise the attentive service and the pleasant ambiance, especially on the patio. However, some guests have noted inconsistent lighting and occasional delays in service.

"I visited Waters in Fort Worth during happy hour (4-6 PM, daily) and had a fantastic experience. The service was fast and attentive, and the ambiance was perfect for unwinding with drinks and snacks.
Espresso Martini ($11) – Smooth, rich, and well-balanced with a great coffee flavor. It was beautifully presented with coffee beans on top, making it both aesthetic and delicious.
Zelarita ($8) – A refreshing tequila-based cocktail with a salted rim, lime juice, and triple sec—perfect for margarita lovers who enjoy a well-balanced citrusy kick.
Truffle Fries – Crispy and flavorful with just the right amount of truffle essence and parmesan. These were a perfect savory snack to pair with drinks.
Complimentary Bread & Butter – A nice touch! The bread was fresh, warm, and paired perfectly with the butter spread, making it a great little starter while waiting for food and drinks.
Fast and attentive service – The staff was friendly and made sure everything arrived promptly.
Relaxed yet upscale vibe – A great place to hang out, whether for a casual happy hour or a more refined seafood dining experience.
With its delicious cocktails, flavorful bites, and top-notch service, Waters Fort Worth is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be coming back for another Espresso Martini and Zelarita!"

"Walked in a 8:30 pm on a Monday evening and was graciously seated and served by the staff. Food was fantastic Gulf coast style seafood with some Cajun influence. Steak was also fantastic. Service was wonderful as well. My only suggestion would be the lighting which was rather cold and harsh for a restaurant of this caliber. Would definitely come back, especially if staying at the Worthington across the street."

"Will return.

Chef John Bonnell's restaurant.

They're near the Sundance Sq in downtown, on the corner of Main St. and E 2nd St.; high ceiling, industrial, pleasant on the eye.

Good stem Schott Zwiese (I prefer Riedel), mini decanters (single-serve carafes) ... which might add a touch of elegance and sophistication (?) but, actually, I'd rather not to have my wine wash through one more medium ...

Our female server looks seasoned, with a big seasoned smile.

We've

crab cake - the best I've had so far: love and appreciate the nuts
Ruby red trout - very good
oysters texasfellar - very good
After the appetizer she asked us if we’d like some bread … yes but no and I told her she’s a bad girl -:)

Well stocked bathroom, from hand cream to mouthwash - a good natured bitching: shouldn't the mouthwash be the purple colored Total Care? ha ha ha ... Thank you."

Fort Worth Wine Bars & Wineries

Chef Bonnell left culinary school with a deep appreciation for wine, which was evident at his first restaurant, Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine. The 10-page wine menu at Waters is almost overwhelming, but fear not, the knowledgeable staff can assist. The Sundance Square restaurant has a patio that just begs to be used on a sunny day, especially if you’re sitting with a plate of fresh oysters and a tart sauvignon blanc or a glass of bubbles!

Recs on Fort Worth Restaurants

Pacific Table is sneaky good for seafood + sushi & cheaper than Waters (which gets most of the seafood headlines) to boot. The Goat makes a great burger as does Fred's TCU location (original location is great too) and Dutch's right by campus. Old Neighborhood Grill is about 70 feet from Esperanza's and is a great breakfast or lunch destination.
