Diners consistently praise Culaccino for its exquisite, high-quality Italian food, particularly the house-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas, and unique dishes like grilled octopus. The atmosphere is described as warm, stylish, and welcoming, with attentive and knowledgeable staff contributing to a great experience. However, some guests have noted that seating can be tight and service has occasionally been slow.
"My best friend and I had lunch here today. It was excellent from start to finish . We had the meatballs and asparagus fritters for appetizers, the risotto and chicken thighs for entrees . Every single morsel of food was delicious. Our server was magnificent. The wine manager helped me with my selection and my wine was fabulous . We had an overall great experience ."

"Good Italian food in one of Chef/Owner Frank Pullara’s twins. It’s a very tight seating in a bistro setting, with a full bar, and a good, primarily European, wine list. Same day reservations are hard to get, but the patio and bar are open seating. The Gnocchi in a hearty oxtail ragu and the off menu spaghetti and meatballs are both excellent. The Budino di Banane is a delicious banana split in a short Ball jar. Service was a little slow."

"Great place for an evening meal. We sat outside, enjoying the cool weather that is so unusual in early August. The bread and spread arrived pretty quickly. My wife liked the spread and I thought it was just ok (I would rather have plain butter). She ordered gnocchi and I the ravioli. The sausage with fennel in the gnocchi has incredible flavor. I was grateful that we share our food :) The ravioli was also great, less striking in flavor than the gnocchi but with an incredibly mellow and smooth flavor. Both dishes were great and I would have them again.
Our waiter was prompt and knowledgeable about the menu. The time it took to get our food seemed very reasonable.
This will be a revisit for us when we come back to Franklin."

Culaccino is no secret to Franklin locals, but those living outside Franklin probably don’t realize that this delightful upscale Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown easily rivals any of Nashville’s hottest restaurants. For me, the restaurant’s most unforgettable dish is its grilled octopus — I know, I know, I’m not much of an octopus fan either, but this particular dish is tender and exquisite and absolutely unforgettable. Culaccino’s artisan pizzas are also superb — Their dough undergoes a three-day fermentation process before being topped with inventive ingredients like hen of the woods mushrooms and taleggio cheese and wood-fired in their pizza oven .
Spend a Fun-Filled Few Days in Franklin, TN: No Car Necessary!
We were absolutely wowed by our dinner at Culaccino, a new upscale Italian restaurant in downtown Franklin that’s a quick walk away from the Harpeth Hotel. Once we were seated at the bar, the bartender went through the menu with us with gusto, regaling us with the intimate details of the grilling of the octopus appetizer, the three-day fermentation of the pizza dough, the rolling out of fresh pasta. As our dishes began arriving, we quickly learned why she was so excited about the food — It was absolutely exquisite and rivals any meal I’ve had at Nashville’s culinary hotspots.
