Recently named one of the ‘Top Ten Dining Destinations in Texas’ by Texas Monthly magazine, Vaudeville is a multi functional venue combining boutique shopping, contemporary art exhibitions and bistro dining, housed in a splendidly renovated historical three floor property on Fredericksburg’s bustling Main Street. Vaudeville’s bistro has a classic and contemporary design while chef and co-owner Jordan Muraglia offers guests French inspired fare crafted from produce sourced from local ranches and farmer’s markets. Vaudeville offers standout dishes including the crawfish etouffee and the French dip sandwich with certified Angus prime rib steak.

This hip, modern interpretation of a European bistro also includes a retail showroom, art gallery, gourmet market, supper club, and wine club. The restaurant features rotating specials, such as duck confit and buttermilk fried chicken, plus a daily menu with gourmet sandwiches (try the French dip, made with Angus prime beef), soups, salads, cheese, charcuterie, and wood-fired pizzas. Expect a more elevated menu with dishes like beef carpaccio, venison tenderloin, and grilled rack of lamb for Friday and Saturday night dinner and the supper club (which takes place most Thursdays in spring).

This metaphorical love child of Cracker Barrel and Cirque du Soleil bucks the comfy traditionalism of Fredericksburg with a versatility that’s great for group nights out or intimate dinners. Look no further than the “Knotty & Nice” tree of artfully braided red Shibari rope that greets guests at the door, followed by a curated shop of pastel board games, elaborate glassware sets, and a second-floor art gallery. Enjoy lunch on the patio or take the stairs down to the bistro for dinner, where you can choose from a wide-ranging French-inspired menu.

Chef Jordan Muraglia and artist Richard Boprae, who turned a three-story landmark building into an art gallery and the upscale restaurant Vaudeville, were pioneers. So were John and Evelyn Washburn, whose Otto's German Bistro serves up dishes that tap into the town's history. (It was settled by German immigrants in 1846 and named after Prince Frederick of Prussia.) The couple has since opened several more popular Fredericksburg restaurants, including the new farm-to-table Italian spot Alla Campagna.

Vaudeville cultivates the look and feel of a basement speakeasy, accessed by stairs from the boutique at street level, a shop filled with bougie home decor and the kind of eclectic knickknacks that say, “Yes, I had a little time to kill in Fredericksburg.” The bistro’s just as eccentric: part wine library, part pastry shop, part coffee bar and part power-lunch enclave with a sandwich-heavy lunch menu and a dinner menu with French accents. For lunch, I can recommend a French dip sandwich, the Thursday special of roast chicken and a flaky pain au chocolat. For dinner, I can recommend delicate duck confit with not-so-delicate Dijon potatoes and a meat-and-cheese board with goat cheese, lamb sausage, manchego, prosciutto and brie, all with mustards and jams from Fischer & Wieser in Fredericksburg.

The bistro serves a lunch, dinner and prix fixe menu so there’s never a bad time to visit for excellent fine dining in Fredericksburg TX. You can also grab a freshly baked pastry or specialty meats and cheeses to eat on the go or bring back to Firefly Resort to enjoy!

Some of my favorites include Cabernet Grill – I love the quail and their Texas wine menu; Vaudeville – great salads, quiche, fried chicken, and bellinis; Hill and Vine – the sausage and cheese board are excellent; and Woerner Warehouse – delicious chicken tortilla and spinach salad. You’ll find tasty German pancakes, egg dishes, fresh-baked pastries, and an excellent traditional German lunch menu if you can get into Old German Bakery (get there early). You can also find wonderful salads and sandwiches at Social Hauz.

When it comes to exceptional fine dining in Fredericksburg, Vaudeville is the name that often springs to mind. After admiring technicolor cowgirl boots at Allens Boots and dog-dessert shaped sculptures at the upscale restaurant Vaudeville, cocktail hour had arrived. We grabbed bar seats under whiskey decanter chandeliers at Chase’s Place, an intimate wooden hangout established in spring 2020 (good times!). Chase regaled us with stories, waving his arms for emphasis while also managing to mix primo cocktails named after jazz songs and music by Phish .

Vaudeville elevates excellent dining by making the experience of going there a memorable one. With a distinctive take on New American cuisine, they also provide a boutique and an art gallery where patrons may enjoy the works of local artists and their house wines. The amazing array of wood-fired artisanal pizza, burrata, charred pulpo, salmon tartare, and grilled veggie salad is only enhanced by the Victorian Chic design.

On Main Street, chef Jordan Muraglia and artist Richard Boprae together opened Vaudeville, an upscale bistro, gallery, and boutique in a reborn three-story building. A seasonal supper club and weekend-only dinner spot, it draws guests all the way from Austin and San Antonio who make the drive for the duck confit. Available on Sundays, the fried chicken plate at Vaudeville offers a meat ‘n’ three-style fix.

But despite this German village’s hamlet-esque appeal, Fredericksburg also features some lavish spots, including Vaudeville, a home-goods store, gallery and bistro that is the pinnacle of high style. The reinvented classic dishes offered in the basement bistro never disappoint, and the juxtaposition of modern décor, art and furniture inside this historic three-story brick building is absolutely stunning.

Main St., this is an attractive art gallery and store carrying home home furnishings and accessories, jewelry plus gourmet food items, wine and beer. Downstairs is an attractive Bistro featuring sandwiches, salads, coffee, pastries and more. Their V Supper Club features tasting menus on the weekend, brunch on Sunday and a prix fixe dinner on Monday evenings.

Vaudeville Bistro (230 E. Main Street) is where diners reserve a table to experience Chef Jordan Muraglia’s dinner fare that exceeds expectations. Like the definition of “vaudeville,” the menu selections are like a song and dance of flavor. And its interior complete with wood elements and leather furniture creates a comforting yet sophisticated aesthetic.

Owners of Vaudeville, Jordan & Richard have created a true gem (both architectural and culinary) in the textured and luxurious downtown Fredericksburg space. Every item on the menu is carefully procured (locally when possible) and elegantly prepared. I love everything about Vaudeville** and could go back every night and never get bored with their menu.

Caviar and creme brulee – the modern, elevated vibe of Vaudeville in a nutshell. Walking past their stone outdoor courtyard and fire pit reveals a warm, chic interior. The restaurant features offerings such as seafood gratin to start, braised Akaushi beef for a main, and to finish, homemade desserts like an artisan chocolate pot to finish.

From the 1915 building – complete with a white Southern veranda – to the fountain and fireplace outdoor seating area, this is one of the best restaurants in town. The menu is equally impressive. Wood-fired artisanal pizzas, Duck Confit, Seared Yellowfin Tuna, and Grilled Lamb Rack are just some of the delectable delights being served up.

While it’s pretty hard to compete with New Orleans food, we enjoyed our meal here.

I've never had a dish at Vaudeville that wasn't delicious and the fun unique hip decor is always a delight. It's located on Main Street with a unique high end showroom and art gallery above it. The store is like an art gallery in and of itself with all kinds of interesting and unique wares to catch your eye.

Make a visit to the Fredericksburg Brewing Company, the oldest brewpub in Texas, opt for a big breakfast at the Old German Bakery & Restaurant, pair a Paulaner with your schnitzel on the patio at Auslander or enjoy upscale New American fare in a comfortable bistro setting at Vaudeville.

Vaudeville Bistro is a bistro located in the basement of the main building, inside also holds a gourmet market, wine club, and more. This unique restaurant has easily the best food in the area. Their lamb, specials, desserts, and more are delicious and make visiting worth it everytime.

Tucked in the basement of a sophisticated furniture and home goods store, Vaundeville had a swanky speakeasy feel to it. Jazzy live music was playing as we sat at the bar. Sugarface ordered the French Dip Sandwich and I ordered the Black Truffle Pizza.

The other best restaurant in Fredericksburg that completely blew me away was Vaudeville. The restaurant offers two dining experiences: the Bistro and the Supper Club, as well as a gallery and a home decor boutique.

Vaudeville does require reservations and you will want to make them as soon as you can to ensure that the list does not fill up. It is a great spot for lunch or dinner located right in the middle of Main Street.

I did mine at Navajo Grill and my sister had hers at Vaudeville. Both were great places and Vaudeville on the high side. Not sure what your budget is, but I'd look at those two as well as Crossroads.

Vaudeville – This was our first time to eat at Vaudeville this trip, and we actually ended up making reservations here twice it was so good!. One night we had dinner, and one day we had brunch.

Vaudeville is one of the most unique places in Fredericksburg that you cannot miss. On the ground floor, it is a luxurious boutique store. Downstairs, it is a charming bistro.

Vaudeville: New American cuisine with a menu that’s constantly changing based on seasonal fare. Oh, and they have a supper club in the winter that’s to die for!

Vaudeville also showcases an art gallery that features one-of-a-kind antiques, museum pieces, and art from local artists. Reservations are required.

Some of my favorites include Zertz, the Fredericksburg T-Shirt store (sometimes they offer free beer), Parts Unknown, Vaudeville and Der Kukenladen.

Alas, I didn’t make it to the Granite House or Vaudeville Bistro, two lauded dining spots, but I did do dinner one night at Otto’s German Bistro.
