Reviews Summary
Split Rail Eats is praised for its delicious comfort food, unique tater tot bowls, and friendly service. Many appreciate the relaxed, country-style atmosphere and the innovative menu options. While generally considered good value, some reviews note it can be a bit pricey.
"Food was good. The onion rings/petals are amazing! Kids chicken and kids burger was great. My husband got the bacon burger, it was good. I got the Beer burger- the cheese is strong, but it's good. Fries, tots, and chips were all great. It is a little pricey. It was $60/4 but it was worth it!"
Candace Claxton
"The food was fantastic and the service was great too. We stopped in for lunch in our way back to our cabin from Roaring Fork. We had the cheeseburger, tots, chicken sandwich, and potato soup. All of which were so fresh and delicious. But then we shared a banana pudding and that was the star of the afternoon. Such a great place, I highly recommend."
Amber Detty
"We stumbled upon this hidden gem when we were trying to escape from the busy downtown Gatlinburg area. It was so amazing. The staff were so amazing and friendly! The atmosphere and seating were so fun. Plenty of tables and couch areas as well. The food was delicious and reasonably priced especially their tater tots. The self service tap bar was so cool. I love trying a little bit of everything and I got to try 2 ounces of 6 different pours for $8. A must do restaurant if you are in the Gatlinburg area!"

Split Rail’s mission statement – as is appropriate for a culinary institution with the word “Eats” in its name – is to make good food. The appetizers range from Southern standards like fried pickles and pimento cheese to the more unique chicken fritters or Fredo fries – which sound like weak fries that fail to live up to their family’s hardscrabble mafia upbringing. But they are only fries smothered in alfredo sauce, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses topped with bacon and green onions.
