But then you notice the delicious looking sandwiches and wraps that folks are eating and you realize you’re in the right place. The fact that they have hundreds of new and used books for sale is a plus. Grab a seat and enjoy the calm, cool, atmosphere as you browse their simple, yet thorough, menu and get ready to chase those tummy grumbles away. GET OUTTA THE HOT SUN AND GET IN HERE NOW! Order the club sandwich on sourdough and some iced tea. You won’t leave disappointed or hungry. Save room for dessert, you’ve earned it."

"We loved this place. The Ruben was excellent and so was the chicken salad and the parmesan pasta salad. They gave us two slices of their house pickles which usually don't like but they're sweet and spicy like Famous Dave's so I love them. The room with all of the books has such a good vibe and I love the tea pot collection but that room feels like it's more for families with all the toys scattered around. If we come back to Glen Rose we're coming back here. It was $20 for 2 sandwiches with sides which was cheaper than we were expecting."

Owner Storie Sharp is a former newspaper reporter and editor — she wrote features for the Glen Rose Reporter, part of our Gannett / USA Today chain — and she's a firecracker. My sandwich of honey-baked ham and cheddar with chips and iced tea hit the spot.
