Yes, it’s totally worth it to catch the sunrise at the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. When we visited we stayed at Maswick Lodge in the newly renovated South Rooms. It was just a short, 5-min, walk to the rim!@Grand Canyon NPS #grandcanyonnationalpark #grandcanyon #familytravel

Reviews Summary

Maswik Food Court offers a convenient and diverse dining experience with generous portions, making it a good value for park visitors. While some dishes like the taco salad and Fettuccine Alfredo are well-received, others, particularly breakfast items, have been criticized for quality and temperature. The cafeteria-style setting and varied options cater to families and those seeking a quick meal, though some suggest exploring nearby restaurants for higher-quality fare.

"After a 4 -5 hour hike we were really hungry the every first food station (Deli) offered deli sandwiches that too make your own types. Brit was there behind the counter and with her help I got mine absolutely vegetarian scrumptious Veges filled sandwich. It was yummmm happening place is this. Every where tourists around talking about their grand experience of mesmerising canyons."

Meena Jain

"We stopped at this food court two days in a row because their prices were better than the other lodges and we enjoyed the cafeteria style.

I don’t recommend the chicken tenders or Southwest burger, but the taco salad (huge!) and the Fettuccine Alfredo were pretty decent. For the taco salad and pasta, plus a soda, the cost was around $35."

Olivia Cacchione

"Having had a wonderful meal and service at the pizza pub next door last night we thought about trying the food court
Was a bit grim, service was slow and disorganised, the pizza looked dreadful, burger and chips was passable
Sit to eat in a large canteen area like being back at school
If you have to eat here then go to the pizza pub instead. Other options are available at hotels a short walk away"

Even more food items are available at two mobile locations, says McTigue, including a small cart in the Historic Village that serves novelty ice cream bars, trail mix, jerky, and refreshments, and a food truck at the Visitor Center where guests can order hot dogs, brats, chili, and beverages.“ And let me suggest one last thing for someone looking for the ultimate Grand Canyon dining experience,” McTigue adds. “I’d suggest they reserve one of El Tovar’s four suites. Each includes a private porch with a private view of the canyon, so they just have to call room service to enjoy a meal on the private porch while taking in the beauty of a stunning sunset or spectacular sunrise.“It’s unforgettable.

Maswik Food Court - Grand Canyon Village Restaurant

Originally built in the 1960s modern style but updated to reflect a more contemporary southwestern aesthetic, Maswik Food Court is comfortable and welcoming. You’ll find exposed wood beams, stonework pillars, and quirky light fixtures with a bit of flair (for example, there are some lights made of triangular shapes and bits of metal). Because the food is served cafeteria-style from a few different stations, seating is similar to what you’d find in a typical food court – open and plentiful.
