The Baja Fish Taco at Shanghai Reds in Palm Springs is excellent, and we’re not the only ones to think so – in fact, the taco was once dubbed by Anthony Bourdain as “truly exceptional” (fresh Alaskan cod, beer-battered and fried, topped with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo and their special white sauce). Also available (and tasty!) are their shrimp tacos (grilled or fried) and seared ahi tacos.

More live entertainment can be found at Shanghai Red’s, directly behind Los Casuelas. The blues band is not quite as sensational as the food but it’s a great place for beers on a patio. When there’s no band, it’s a good place to watch sports with locals.
