What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mekong Restaurant is highly praised for its authentic and flavorful Vietnamese cuisine, with many considering it the best in the area. Customers rave about dishes like Pho and summer rolls, appreciating the fresh ingredients, some of which are grown on-site. While the food is a definite draw, some reviews mention inconsistencies in cleanliness and occasional service hiccups.
"Get past the fact the building is an old Arby’s and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Really good quality food that’s as close to authentic as you can get around the upstate. Sometimes the tables are hit or miss on cleanliness, but last time was spotless and the rest rooms were well kept. Nice staff, very young and little unorganized but friendly nonetheless. Definitely recommend the summer rolls, combination Pho(pronounce “FU” btw) and the mango bubble tea."

"I asked my wife where she would like to get lunch & she suggested we should try Mekong Vietnamese. Wow, full of flavors and very good food to go with the excellent service. We had a xl beef brisket Pho soup to go (now one of our favorite soups of all Vietnamese restaurants we've eaten) & ate at the table, the Korean BBQ Beef ribs, Shakey beef & rice and combination Vietnamese Fried rice. Everything was so full of flavors we hadn't had before in a Vietnamese restaurant. Might be because they grow some of their own spices. We will definitely be back but next time we'll be a little bit more frugal. Our bill for these 4 dishes & drink was $69.09 plus 20% tip."

"First off, the service was just horrible! I’m an understanding person, but it was r busy at all. Our server barely checked on us once we were sat and received our drinks. The calamari appetizer was a 0/10. The breading just fell off, rubbery, chewy and smelled odd. My entrée was the shrimp vermicelli & was decent it was just, the shrimp was over cooked to the maximum capacity & I only had like 7 small, over cooked shrimp in a huge bowl of pasta and herbs."
